Hi to anyone reading this. I am going to begin an experiment tonight. I have been researching juicing raw cannabis as well as eating the leafy parts and will be having my first bits tonight. I am going to keep a log of what is consumed and how much and the effect the cannabis does or does not have. I have spent the last hour on you tube listening to doctors and patients alike. There are several success stories out there, if you are a doubter please go to you tube and do a search for cannabis and cancer. There IS something in the CBD of a cannabis plant that has antimetastic and anti cancer properties. I wish the government would get its head out of its butt and quit seeing $$$$. If anyone is interested in my findings I will be posting them here

Hi Cheryl!  I have stage IIb breast cancer and I have been on raw cannabis for 5 months now.  I eat the raw cannabis in a gel capsule every 3 hours all day long.  I also take the cannabis oil...(RSO) at bedtime to help me sleep all night.  I feel great and the raw cannabis does not get me high!  I love that!  I did not do chemo, mastectomy, or radiation like the oncologist wanted me to do.  I will have CT Scan done tomorrow and find out what's going on Dec. 18th.  I have never had a bad day yet with BC....except for the lumpectomy in July.  That wasn't so great.  I will post on here my results when I get them.  Take care!

Hello,  you went with something other than western medicine? You are very brave. I know that the chemo and rads helped but it also did a lot of damage that I am hoping to undo. I feel like I am 90 most days and am only 41.  I would love for you to keep me posted on how you are doing.  I have not done much research on the capsule though my onc does have hemp pills.  I need to research hemp oil as I have seen snigglets about its benefits.  I am going to eat some leaves in a salad tonight and tomorrow until I get my juicer.  I am hoping to see long term results as I am sure my rate of reoccurence is still about 52% even after chemo, rads, mastectomy on both sides, tamoxifen and having ovaries taken out in a few weeks.  I will see my onc in January and will let him know about my hemp experiment.  He is awesome and very positive.  I gave him an article on hemp curing disease and he said he has studied for years and is still not sure about the effects. I will try anything as long as it does not do me more harm than good.  Good luck and please stay in touch!!

Just added you to my favourites.  Cool  There is indeed tons of research on cannabis' medicinal properties.  If it doesn't work, unlike many chemo treatments, at least you are unlikely to regret it.  No S/Es like long term neuropathies, or even hair loss.  It might even make you (me) more amenable to the more conventional treatments, or at least not care as much about how much they suck.

Well I chewed on some leaves last night and I swear my lower back felt better. Maybe it was a coincedence, IDK, my back hurts again today. I am hoping it is the tamoxifen.  I made a nice leafy salad with some cannabis leaves and kale along with radishes and green peppers.  Getting a wheatgrass juicer this weekend.

Cheryl. Are you using fresh cannabis? If so will that be an issue during non growing months in North America? Or can you use dried product and revive it in some kind of oil? I 'm thinking olive oil for salads, coconut oil for brownies or cookies.

Yes it is fresh. I have a friend who is preparing for Ohio to legalize it for medicinal purposes, like that's ever going to happen here.  She does not use any chemicals on her plants and uses organic soil.  I will be searching for hemp oil this weekend.

yes she is. she juices a lot and is pretty healthy.  She even made a comment to me once I told her about my dx that she would not have done chemo.  I never not considered doing it. I will do anything if it will not do more harm.  She uses some leaves for tea, she told me today that she was going to try to make no back cookies and canna butter!!  I told her I will be aware of that if I come over and she offers me toast!!! LOL

    Cheryl,

I hope the cannabis works for you.  My cousin used it when she had pancreatic cancer to help with the pain and nausea.  A friend of hers made it into suckers, and also a skin lotion.  I tried the skin lotion .. it was very soothing.

My dad also used it when he had esophageal cancer.  He used it in some type of oil form with an eye dropper to ingest it.

If it works for chronic pain, I'd be willing to give it a go.

Keep us updated on what's happening with you.

    hugs,

    Bren

Hi Bren....I use dried cannabis...mostly the buds.  I grind it up, add olive oil to it, stuff into gel capsules and take one every 3 or 4 hours all day long.  So if you use the dried cannabis you can have it all the time as it won't rot.  I usually grind up enough to last 2 or 3 days...but I could do up enough to last a couple of weeks or even more.

Hi all.  I am on the hunt for a wheatgrass juicer to begin juicing leaves.  I tried some in a salad and uh...I felt weird.  I have smoked it before so I know how that feels but when I ate it I felt different.  Think my body has to get used to it or something. For now I am sticking to the juice, shot glass at at time.

Cheryl - I also live in Ohio.  I ground the bud in a coffee grinder and stuffed capsules; I obtained my liscense in Michigan so had the opportunity of buying from dispensaries.  I quickly realized that the Indica plant was what I needed to use to get relief from the pain but within 8 months I found it to be too expensive plus a real hassle to travel back up to MI every time I needed more.  I upped my fish oil (I read that was great for pain) to triple the dose I was taking and added boswellia serrata too.  I found that to be rather effective.  Just recently I ordered from Dixie X because of their work in the CBD from the plants.  Have you tried that company; they ship to all the states.  Sending you good thoughts.

Yes I have heard of Dixie X but have not checked it out yet. I am searching for a wheatgrass juicer. I soaked some leaves today and put them thru my regular juicer along with carrots and celery and strawberries.

YAY, cannabis lovers! I am very much looking forward to moving back to New Mexico, where I will be able to legally grow my own medical cannabis. I plan on growing a strain that is high in Cannabidiol and juicing it. I look forward to hearing about people's results here and will post about my own eventually :)

on another note my aunty who lost her husband recently and wasnt coping at all.  her son gave her a mull cookie and she says it was the best sleep she has had since losing her husband 6 months ag.

she told her doctor and his response was....

that cookie is probably much better than any traditional anti anxiety meds like Valium or serapax or any sleeping tablet and advised her to keep having them.

my auntie is 78 yo has a little biscuit every day and is coping so much better.

    go for it girls.

Well here in Ohio, I doubt we will see legal cannabis anytime soon.  This state is so far behind the times!!  I wish I could move somewhere else to get cannabis and some sunshine but I have my horses here and won't leave them and probably coldnt afford to move them right now so here I stay.  I have a friend who grows some in anticipation of legal medical marijuana in this state. Fat chance I told her but I will be willing to use it to see how it is.  She uses only organic soil and no chemicals.  I juiced a little yesterday.  I did try to eat some leaves in a salad but didn't feel so swell after a few hours.  I am also thinking about gettng some oil.

Barbara, I am totally confused about the DixieX product, so I will be interested to hear what your experience is with it.  From what I can glean researching, CBD is a Schedule 1 substance, just like THC is.  If this is indeed true, I don't know what you just purchased, but it sure wasn't CBD.  I have been asking my friends "in the know," and they're not sure what this is either.

Anxious to hear what you feel with it, if anything.  I have used oil that was 30% THC:3-% CBD and you DO feel CBD but it is the anti-THC.  At least you feel it in percentages that high.  But I just felt like I could not keep my eyes open ... they would get so heavy and I would have to take a little nap.  But that's all.  I had to stop using it, because I have cachexia and while THC causes munchies, CBD decreases your appetite, so that killed that for me.

    xxoo

Hey guys, I was taking the oil for awhile. Stopped when I went to the States on holidays for 3 weeks, this summer. When I got back and had scans it was the first time I had progression. Just one tumour but made me wonder. I haven't done much of it since as I hate being so high on the stuff. I was only taking a small drop before bed. can't do it all the time with a young family to take care if. I am interested in the Dixie X as well. can it be shipped to Canada?

Okay, here is my experience with using the gum.  They suggest using it twice a day and chewing it for at least 10 minutes.  I did not find that the gum relieved any hip/knee pain however it did decrease my blood pressure and for me that is a good thing.  I could never go to the oncologists office without it skyrocketing when it was taken until the last time.  So something was working, my mind?

Melissa, it is my understanding that the CBDs are not Schedule 1 therefore allowing them to sell to whom ever orders it.  I have also read/heard that the CBD  is only viable when some THC is present.........that would then make it more understandable why I still felt pain after chewing the gum.  I am sure there are many out there, including you Melissa, that understand this topic far better then I.

If, in fact, the CBDs help prevent metastasis then I would use it regardless of whether it helps with the pain, but then no one really has those answers.  In the end it still remains a crap shoot.

Melissa, I was confused about this too...But I learned that the CBD in Dixie X is from Hemp, not Cannabis, therefore it is legal. I asked a friend who studies the science of cannabinoids about Dixie X, and she felt that there could certainly be some benefit from it. However, she said that a better way to legally get CBD from hemp would be to grow hemp sprouts and juice or eat them. Again, just one opinion, but something I'm definitely going to try, as the Dixie X is out of my price range.

    Here's what she said:
The CBD is Dixie X is taken from Industrial Hemp Essential Oil, which naturally has a trace amount of THC. There are seeds available that you could grow by the hundreds in windowboxes for young medicinal Hemp sprouts. Definitely better than Dixie X. There are a bunch of links at the bottom of www.rawhemp.tk that have places to get seeds, hemp leaf tea and hemp oils containing CBD.
    ****

She also gave me a 10% discount code for Dixie X - not sure if it's cool to post publicly, but anyone who is interested please message me.

And Barbara, thank you for your report about the gum. I wish it had helped more for your pain, but hoping the anti-proliferative effect works!

I am glad to find this discussion. I have been given my liscence and can grow and use legally here in Michigan. I have an autoimmune disease as well as just finishing rads. I am scared to try it for some reason. I remember the 70s.Sealed

I am going to read here for a bit.

Anyone know the best way to digest it? I have a sensitive stomach and a ton of allergies.

I just received a bottle of hemp oil I bought online, then found out that the hemp and cannabis are different.  I am still using the hemp oil because it contains omega 3 and omega 6. Dixie X, do they have cannabis oil? I have to check it out.

I'm trying to figure out the hemp cannabis thing wish it were legal here. I think it would have helped me for chemo and next the rads instead of all these pills. I have no idea what's legal & what is not. I just want to feel better, be healthier & do nautral things instead of chemicals if possible. What's the deal  with hemp milk?

    Maybe its cuz i'm canadian...

Maybe its cuz i grew up in a pot smoking hippy family ...

Maybe its cuz ive smoked pot most of my life, both recreationaly and for support with physical and mental health...

but i could care less about their laws...

This herb has far to many benifits , for those of us in pain and suffering daily to find any relief.

We should not have to worry about laws...

Thank you all for the discussion! I have been thinking of growing mmj. I have alot of muscle pain and I do not sleep at all at night. My doc has prescribed different meds to help, but everything makes me feel worse the next day with more side effects. A friend gave me some special cookies and I finally had a great night's sleep and felt great the next day. Helped with sleep and pain with no se's! So I certainly could not take it during the day. It is legal here now and it has been suggested to me to get my license to grow asap under the medical law, as it may be more difficult once they get everything figured out on how to regulate it. All I know is that I feel so much better since my friend has given this to me. I do not know why it is such a big deal, the strain I had did not make me anymore "high" than more traditional pain relief like vicadon or other pain relief. Ibuprofen helps some but not much.

I would be interested in making tea and using fresh leaves for anti cancer benefits. I am not a smoker at all and would rather find other ways to take it.
