Hair extensions

I know that this is a hot topic at my treatment center, but I don't know of anyone who has had it done. I have seen great before and after" shows on cancer survivors. I keep going back and forth with wanting hair extensions and worrying about the expense and damage to the hair. Would love to hear anyone's experiences with extensions (type, comfort, hair damage, etc.) or any professionals' recommendations to help me make my decision.

Thank you, ladies.

I got keratin extensions put in when my hair was only half an inch long.  They're a pain in the butt and quite expensive....but I wouldn't give them up for anything in the world.  Your hair should be long enough to hide where the extensions attach by now. (You were in my Sept 2011 chemo thread group Smile) If you can afford it, do it!  My hair has been growing like crazy with them in, absolutely no damage.

Hi, sorry I did not see your post earlier.

I am in Australia and have had extensions for 12 months. My hair was about 2.5 inches long when I had them put in. The type I have consists of two wefts or panels that are placed at the back, secured by weaving through strands of your own hair. Plus a toupé type piece over the top.

Google Beverley May and contact her. She may know of someone in your area using this technique.

Also, best get your hair straightened first.

My hair is not at all damaged. No heat or glue with the system I have used.
