Carol - shocking news, I can't even imagine how you are dealing, but you WILL and we all are here for you.  Vent away, sister!

I believe the last test that you were waiting on was an MRI - which can be informative but I think that you need a biopsy to really find out what is going on (including if it is cancerous or not and , if so, er+, her+, etc).

I'll be praying for you , my friend.  Hugs.

You cant imagine how sad I am, specially for my two gils.

I asked the doc about biopsy, and he said its pretty sure thats liver cancer since he presented my case to ALL specialist including head of radiology and head of liver dept.

I will meet with Onc Dec 20, .....Nice Christmas present.

My husband is a mess, my girls are hopeful. I dont know how to feel, since physically I feel in top shape.

    I will keep you posted.

I have a friend who was diagnosed with liver mets in October 2008.  She doesn't post on this site often because she is TOO BUSY, she also has kids and she lives every day to the fullest.  It has been over 4 years now and she is feeling good.  At least 3 of those years she has been on an AI and has now moved to Xeloda - still feeling good for the most part and has long blonde beautiful hair and an even more beautiful smile.

With the news coming out of SABCS this week, we have even more reason for hope.  Ask your Oncologist about that when you see him.

Believe that you will feel as good as you do now and continue to live life to the fullest every day.

    Much love - Mary

I am so glad for you that they did the scans, you are right about the no scan being "bullshit", just like fredntan my oncolgist just took my $30.00 copay, and did a kind of sorta breast exam. I finally told him that I can do a breast exam a lot cheaper...... and that sometimes I even did them for free :) He had a good laugh, and I have not seen him since. I simply got frustrated about the waste of time and money and stopped going altogether. I will be thinking about you and hope they knock those liver mets to the curb quickly! Tell your Doc that I personally said thank you for looking after you so well!!!

Hi There, I am confused. Are they saying the findings on a scan are inconclusive or did you have a liver biopsy?

A tumor tissue biopsy  is the only 100% way of confirming liver mets. IF it is truly  liver mets, there is a wealth of RXs to deal with it.

My mom had" too many to count liver met lesions" an she had a mega response. You'll be Ok. Hang  in there.May blessings.

Oh, Mamita, that's terrible news to get any time of the year, but it's doubly awful during the big holiday season. I hope they decide to biopsy it so they have the most up-to-date information about it when they pick a treatment plan. If the spot is large and accessible enough, I would insist on it first.

My prayer for you is that they find the most effective treatment and have you dancing with NED in the new year!

Thank you all sooo much. right now, I have no idea. I had a scan about 3 weeks ago, and it came back " inconclusive" for two small spots on the liver. I was laughing when the doc said it looks b9, probably from chemo or Tamox. Common, me........Are you kidding me, I am doing so great. eat well, exercise, perfect weight, ok, I can't run anymore 5km, but I am also getting older.

And then.........wang, the phone call, my breast surgeon phoned and said he presented my " inconclusive" findings to the head of radiology, head of liver dept, and they ALL confirmed I do not need an invasive biopsy, and YES, they can see its cancer. Voilà.......

To the date excact Dec, 15 I was 4 years ago diognosed with breast cancer, just  before Christmas.

What happend......???? geee. do I need some hope, cause right now, I am in a bad place, .........

i will let you know next week, when i have a plan.

    Buy for now dear sisters........

If these two spots are indeed cancer then the good news is that they are super small and I am SURE you will be NED in no time!!!! Are you able to get a second opioun? I would think they would need to biopsy to determine if your still her 2 negative and er positive.

    Carol,

I'm so sorry that you've been given this news. But there is still a lot of hope for you. I've been spending my time in the stage IV forum and it feels so good because I see many women who are doing well.

Since you've been taking good care of yourself the chances of the treatment plan working and your immune system kicking in are very high. Remember, you can be stage IV and still be having a long dance with NED.
