Adjustable cot/mattress

Hey all!

My guy is a really wild sleeper. He is a big guy and is all over the bed when he sleeps. I usually sleep on the edge of the bed because most the time its the only place that is safe to be. Laughing I am really worried about the sleeping situation after I have surgery (more then likely will be a bi-lateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction) and I would prefer to be in the living room where the tv is while I recoup! Anyone know of a good, cheap adjustable mattress or another idea that I can use in my living room for awhile?? I am not about to spend thousands on buying a bed that I can't get back into my room or hundreds to rent one for a few weeks. I'd rather have something that I can just roll away. Our couch is not suitable to sleep on either as it has the recliners on the end and has humps in the couches while laying down. Oh yeah...I don't have insurance so I don't have help with the cost either.

Any ideas would be great....what did you all do??

Although I had a umx not bmx, my guys brought the recliner up from the basement to the family room.

Had lots of pillows and comforters and such ... It was January. I had a small table right next to me with all my meds and cell phone and a thermal cup with ice water. My husband was within earshot and checked on me frequently during the night - setting his alarm to be there to give me meds and help me to the bathroom the first nights.

It worked well for me. It does have a lever and it was on the right side, which was perfect becausey umx was left.

Hope others will weigh in on the bmx. I believe some used wedge type pillows and such.

Maybe you know someone who would be willing to loan you a recliner during that time?

You might be able to use the recliner(s) on your couch, at least for the first couple of weeks after surgery.  I had a recliner that has an electric control, so that was easy to use.  When I did start sleeping in the bed, I borrowed my daughter's body pillow and put it down the center of the bed.  It kept my husband on "his" side of the bed.
