    Night Teka!

Camille I kind of thought you might have removed us from your favorites lol. I stalked you and saw you cheating on us :p Your parties sound great.

Jane, I'm so glad you are getting your kitchen finished! Awesomely jealous. I want to paint mine a muted yellow. Yellows are tough though.

Whaevah, hope work slows down. My feet are still pretty messed up from Taxotere. And my fingers go numb when it gets cold. My nails are still peeling. But I always have my shining personality ;-) 3 weeks was my magical number. Best I felt during this whole process.

I watched the last 3 episodes of Parenthood tonight. Pretty good depication of BC and chemo. I never piked though. And my friend told me that the smell of pot made her sicker than the SE's. Lol.

Markat I would never leave here I have 2 favorite roups this is one for sure--why didn't u privat message me? I've been so mixed up with a goofy comouter, It's tough cuz whatever I do I don't know and takes forever to figure it out. Everyone sounds good.

And I forgot to comment on (I don't rememver who said it.) How we never saw each other -old, young, skinn, fat, pretty, maybe not so pretty, race, beliefs==nothing matters--what a horrible reason to become close to each other but somehow it works.  Now I do go on a couple of thread and certain people I like certain people I don't (just like in person) I don't care for the type of person thst is a know it all and pays themselves on the ack constany. Remember I said When u do wrong always remember, when u do good forget about it--and I believe that.--So when I hear so much good It hits me hard. I know I'm not realy that nice. I don't mean some stuff I mean everything u do. so it's hard to post on some. And now that I know u guys I want to hear everything cuz once I like, I always like--and everyone is good on her and funny. And Teka cracks me up.

And we keep getting more and more people and everyone is so nice (I think) and fits with our hermitude. So I'm here. and when I first started and ended up in the hospital no one really noticed but now I would tell my DD to let u and another post know so I won't be far. Hopefuy no hospitals for along long time.

    I'm blabbering but u know what I mean--al of u do. LOL

I am about 9 months post rads too - whaevah had asked how they were ... like the rest doable.  When they do whole breast radiation it is the shallower areas at edge of field, like under breast that have more skin problems .... ditto underarm.

Didn't have chemo, but the tamoxifen has sucked all the estrogen out of my brain ... middle-age forgetfulness ... I am there.

Kitchen green or same neutral as rest of main floor ... depending on what I go buy when the store opens in a couple of hours.

Flwarrior ... good luck with interview ... I gues a job is better than no job .... and hopefully something you really want will come along.

Camille I was going to pm you, but then I forgot, lol. My chemo brain is coming back lately. I couldn't remember the name of Worcestershire sauce for the life of me yesterday. I had to Google steak sauce brands, lol!

FL, hope the interview goes well!!

    Jane, have fun!!

    Hi hermits!!!

whaevah...love that..."I know it all. I just can't remember any of it."  LOL! How dang true (and sad...).

The second interview seemed like it went well.  It was a group interview...Me and 3 of them. It felt like being on a firing line, but I think I held my own.  We will see...

bgirl what color is the kitchen?  Did it turn out fabulous???

Sorry, ladies.  No hunky ones here.  DH once upon a time did qualify big time, but that was many moons ago.  (high school sweethearts, yep, for real.)

The shoes you saw, FL, are called skeletoes (other brands are cheaper) and the kids went wild for them about three years ago.  Fad.  DH tried on a pair--and couldn't get his toes to cooperate into the little "tunnels"!  Kinda like threading your fingers into tight gloves, but toes aren't quite so cooperative.  They're supposed to be good as a barefoot alternative, and for keeping calves flexed, instead of wearing any sort of heel.  DH is an orthotist/prosthetist so footwear is a topic always noted.  (He'll actually look at a gorgeous woman and say--to me--"her shoes are too small.  She's off balance so that's why she waddles."  or some such.  Doesn't even notice the rest of her!)  Cool

As for break, we get off Dec 21 to Jan 2.  (Yay!  I can get rid of some of this joint pain nonsense, maybe!)  My great goal is to have my lesson plans uploaded before leaving the building, so I can really just leave it all behind.

FL--keep us posted on your job prospect.  Best of luck.  Settled in Ar after all over as an army brat, then all over as a navy wife, then here so our girls could have "roots."  (Sorry.  Not my favorite state since it's land-locked.  Love the beach, but it wasn't meant to be.  Too many family obligations pulled us here. Stationed in Jax, FL for a bit, then stayed a while in St. Augustine.)  But it's nice to see the deer every day, and see bunnies frolic, and cardinals fill the bird feeder.

Hope everyone is feeling well.  Happy December.

FL Good Luck with this job. I know it's tough out there, but u'll get what u want u'll see.

The westher is like spring here today anyway, wish it would stay like this, but winter is around the corner. litterally. and IL can get brutal.

Fl warrior .. fingers crossed that things work out for you.

Screw you Breast Cancer ... I have a green (weeping willow) love paint names, kitchen painted before Christmas ... doors will have to wait for Spring.  People have told me I am crazy to be painting this close to Christmas, but wanted to do it before Christmas last year and it got postponed due to F...ing Breast Cancer!  I know it is crazy as my surgery is Tuesday, but it is just an acomplishment.  Feel like my life got put on hold this last year +  .... I think you guys can understand why it is important, even though it is just paint.

Did go and do my fasting blood work for my PCP this morning and renewed my prescriptions too, pre-op Thursday, but still winning today.

Thank you all for the support on the job front.  I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Skittle, I used to vacation at a cabin on Lake Catherine in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas. It was a very pretty place.  Is that any where near you?

Camille our weather was beautiful here today too!

bgirl, I totally get it.  You go girl!  You will have such a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction!  And you got it done before surgery and Christmas!  I hope you thoroughly enjoy it!

Are the skeletoes cushy?  I am very limited in type of shoe I can wear. Has to be very soft and very cushy thanks to neuropathy from good ole taxotere...damn bc!

Hi all - just back from my weekend with my son, then whirlwind of work Mon/Tues. The visit with DS was wonderful. I did pretty well, and only teared up a bit (vs. full on bawling) when we had to say our goodbyes. He has a new gf, and seems on top of the world. He also seemed reassured by seeing me in the flesh that I'm for now ok. That meant the world to me, because I worry so much about how he's handling this.

I am well and truly exhausted. This is week two for my Xeloda. And? In counting my pills last night, I've found that I've somehow missed 2 whole days worth of pills. I'm supposed to be out on Friday night - but will be out Sun. night instead. I have zero idea how this happened. Talk about chemo brain.

Teka .. you are chatty today.

So I am now the proud owner of a new boob (or partial one) lol.  Love my DH, told him I bought one and he is kind of like ... okay ... happy with it.  No questions about cost or anything ... just whatever.

markat--Just asked DH what the best shoe for neuropathy would be... response:  soft toed, (fabric or leather) with a custom-made insert made of ppt plastizode (?).  Usually not laced, has strap for adjustment.  Most with neuropathy can sense pressure and do not want them too tight.  (eeg.  Greek to me.)  Barefoot on the beach sounds sooo much more fun and comforting.  and bares are always welcome on the beach!

bgirl--congrats!  Can any of us picture ourselves twenty years ago celebrating a new boob!  Maybe Victoria Secret push up, but certainly not bc.  sigh.  Reality.  And I love that you did your kitchen.  Paint is like a second chance.  We all need pick-me-ups like that.  It's transforming.  Thinking of you.  Hope all goes quickly and well!

Camille--sorry, sweetie, but with all your d issues, I found "just pooin in" hilarious.  (forgive me. Sixth grade humor...and I'm tired.)

whaevah--yeah.  Keeper.  I'm too old to "train" a new one!  A zillion years together makes us like puzzle pieces.  The fit doesn't have to be forced.

Liz--so glad you had your visit!  Tears are just part of love.  Wonderful to spend time together.  Wishing my dds had bfs... but none on the horizon.  Good men are hard to find.

FL--Ouchita mountains are kind of far, but so pretty.  We are closer to Petit Jean mtn and Pinnacle mtn.  Autumn colors have been amazing this year.  No, skeletoes are not cushy... they are like an enclosed flip-flop as far as "feel"...  too flat for softness.

Teka--I found my old pill holder depressing.   I found this cylindrical bright rainbow stacked one.  The bright colors cheer me up, and I make my way through the week... Monday's red, Tuesday's yellow... etc.

We made it mid week!  Hugs to all.

I would like to apply for membership in the Hermit Club. Since my MX, I have been telecommuting and haven't seen anyone from my office except one person I ran into accidentally when I went in on a Saturday expecting nobody to be there, and another two I saw at the bus stop when I had errands downtown. For some reason I don't want to see my co-workers, or it might be more accurate to say I don't want them to see me, even though treatment has not affected my appearance all that much--CMF doesn't make all of your hair fall out and with my usual wardrobe of loose fitting tops my one-sidedness is not obvious.

I'm planning to retire from my job next year, and just bought a house to live in after I retire. I find myself feeling really secretive and not wanting to tell anyone but my immediate family exactly where the house is, although I have told other people what city it's in. I don't know why I feel this way, but as long as I do I will keep my new address to myself. Does that make me a Hermit?

Welcome Curveball!! We are a fun supportive group. We chat a lot about everything, so just jump in Laughing

Camille is having problems posting to the boards. She pm'ed me. I'm having problems also from my phone so maybe we are both having wifi/data issues. She wants everyone to know she is here reading. PM her if you want and hopefully the issue is resolved quickly.

LL, so glad you had a good trip!

Jane, yay for your new boob! When is your surgery? Today, yesterday, next week? Damn chemo brain.

Whaevah, hope you aren't in pain from yesterday and are feeling okay. Thinking about ya.

Skittle, thank you for asking your DH. I think I have neuropathy. My MO thinks I have Plantars Fascitis. I never had problems before chemo, but I've never been this fat either.

Hi to FL, Teka, and everyone else. Hope all are having a good day. Yesterday was a no good rotten day for me. But today feels better. Hugs to all!
