Try to remember that whatever 'is' -- already is.

These tests don't change anything -- they only give you the information to help you decide your best treatment plan... which you will do.

No matter what the results show, you will have choices and appropriate treatments available to you.

No nodes is a good sign. 1cm tumor -- also good sign. Stage 1-2 is early, and treatable.

In many ways this early 'not-knowing' part is the hardest.

But the reality is that you (and all we humans) don't really know how ANYTHING in life will turn out. Don't know if our relationships will last, if we might get fired tomorrow, or hit by a bus before our next doctor's appointment!

This is how life is -- unpredictable!

Breathe in. Breathe out. Go sit in the sun, close your eyes and listen to the wind in the trees.

    Life is good.

It will be OK -- whatever it is, you can handle it.

    Best of luck :)

    I agree with Linda...

According to what you've posted, you appear to be early-stage, which means that the cancer is, thus far, confined to your breast.  No positive nodes means that it hasn't "infected" your nearby lymph nodes.  The OncoType will determine your risk of recurrence while taking tamoxifen: if you come back high-risk, chemotherapy will likely be recommended as part of your treatment, along with tamoxifen; if you come back low-risk, you will likely just be given tamoxifen.

All malignant breast cancer, if left untreated, is deadly; however, when it's caught early, it is very treatable.  I hesitate to use the word "cure", but most treatment for early-stagers is geared toward a "curative outcome", which means that - with treatment - you can live a long, disease-free life.

    Breathe.  You'll be okay.

I haven't received the oncotype results yet ands it doesn't really matter. I have had double mast with sentinel nodes x3. They found an odd lymph node and took it out. Sentinel nodes neg odd node positive. Port surgery before end of year and chemo starts in January. All three of my doctors say I am out of the box! I go 1 minute, hour, at a time. If not I would explode! I also look for the positive in things. My daughter is a 3 year triple neg survivor. Her dx and treatment were my hell so I can deal with my dx. We will both be survivors together and we will run relay for life together. We are special. God gives us strength when we need it the most!
