it's been quite a year

We got a tree yesterday.  It was bright and sunny and warm-for-Dec.  Same as last year.  But last year it was the first time I had left the house since my UM surgery.  I was there with my son, my drain and my large hematoma at my scar.  I was still gobsmacked from the last few months, feeling grungy and so uncomfortable with my new body.  But it was a brilliant day visually and everything smelled so good; the fresh air, the scent of the trees.  All of that informed the trip today.  Who knew, a state of being present from a sense memory.
