I am trying to keep it together, he said it could be a Nodule or just a shadow........I said what about a met. He said yes that is possible too, and he would need to boipsy if there is a mass.......I feel so much fear right now I really need my sister's.........

oh i am sorry for your worries. just to say, you have nothing until you have something.  keep that fear at bay as best as you can because you have nothing now. and you are getting checked.  so use your superpowers for staying in the moment with what you know is true, and not with your worries.  waiting is the pits.  just try to stay in the now.  there are so many things that could be something that are nothing.  try to stay in then now.  my friend told me (quite often), "you don't have to lay down in front of an oncoming train.  you don't even know what track it is on or if you have ropes! or if it is really headed for you."  with practice, (we get so much of that), i did get skills to keep me off that track of doom and in the present, feeling somewhat better knowing i was taking care of things but not anticipating things that might not be there.

    take care,

    hattie

Steph, I can easily imagine the anxiety.  I'm so sorry you're going through this.  It sounds horrible, but I keep some Ativan on hand since things like this do happen.  I don't know how else to get through the days of not-knowing that happen with these awful, awful, awful scares.

Do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself, if it's meds, friends, meditation, whatever.

    Hi Steph:

I got a call after my pre-op on October 3, 2011 for my lumpectomy.  There was "something" on my left lung.  I was scheduled for a CT 2 days later, which came back "indeterminate".  I had my lumpectomy and snb on October 5, 2011 and was scheduled for a PET scan on October 24, 2011.

I was terrified since I'm a former smoker and my Momma passed away from lung cancer on 12/31/06.  The PET was kinda scary but the diagnosis is granuloma.  My RO said there are probably a lot of people walking around with it.  It can be caused by things in the air, chronic infections, etc that can cause granular tissue.  I've had 4 follow up CT's and nothing is changed so I'll get it checked about once a year unless I have other problems.

I know how scared you are.....try not to worry.  Believe me I know how hard that is but being upset is not good for you either.  Maybe your doctor could prescribe something for you.

I'll be praying for good results for you,

    LaDonna

Hattie is right.  Hang on and don't get on those tracks.  The docs are going to be cautious (this is good!) but this is something we have to deal with.  We are holding your hand while you wait for the all clear.

    Hugs!!

I had an xray done prior to surgery at sloan - they told me there was something on my lung - I freaked out ,  of course, but then they said - you had a ct scan last week - its  likely from an infection.

Whateever it was - was 4 and half years ago now.

    You are ok.  hugs.

I've had a lung scare...and I'm so sorry you are.  I have a nodule that is too small to biopsy and was told it most likely is nothing but scaring from an infection.  It can be so scary but try to remember it's nothing until it is something and we have cyst and nodules everywhere that we just happen to find out about.  Let us know sweetie how it goes.

Ok, UPDATE........ got my ct results, no tumors on my lungs!! thank you God!!! However, why is there always a however? They saw something on my liver...Doc said so small he needs an dx ultra sound. He said it could be a blood vessel or something, wait and watch probebly..........i am still so grateful for your prayers and good wishes.......I would not want this in my lungs. The Mo said, cancer patients are watched and scaned so much they find a lot of things on us that are on a lot of people they just don't know it!!!!!!!! I am sure it will be ok, he did not seem to worried...Life in the waiting room!!!!!!!!!.....We really need better magizines in here!!!!!

Steph, that's great news your lungs are clear!!!! What a relief!!! I was kind of depressed yesterday, could not figure out why? Then I realised it's from the pending results of your CT. We are all  in this together, aren't we? I will definitely have a better day today!!! And I totally agree with your doc about the liver thing. I know a lady from my cancer center, who was tald the same thing and that spot just stayed unchanged. Could be a SE from the chemo. Please don't worry too much. Love and hugs to you.

Great news Steph!  I'm glad to hear it was nothing.  I hope this helps...I also have a spot on my liver :)  Same as my lung, to small to biopsy and was found during another scan, we're just watching it.  They think it's a blood vessel, I can't remember the official name.  I bet your's is nothing as well.  Keep the faith and stay strong sis!
