We still would like to hear why you were so angry with the MOH.

2 is Patch's Dad & 5 is Matt?

My DGD Zoe was allowed into my sewing room for the first time yesterday. DD was sewing together quilt pieces and Zoe wanted to help. Dd let her put two pieces together and Zoe put them under the feet. It all happened so smoothly that we had no chance to interact at all.  I said "How do you think Zoe knows to do that?" ZOE responds by singing, "Stitch by stitch, sewing it together."  

We were both stunned, when DD realizes it is a tune from the TV cartoon My Little Pony. Apparently one of the ponies is a seamstress and Zoe has watched very carefully.   Zoe is 2 years and 3 months old.    Obviously she will never be allowed anywhere near the sewing machine on her own. We also unplug after every use but I am not sure Z wouldn't know how to plug it in herself.   

My sewing room has my dolls in it, not a big collection just a few. Z handled them very carefully. She poked around at this or that and I am sure she will want to visit again and that was the whole idea of many things I put up there. I have a few comfy chairs and a drop leaf table, some doll furniture, a tall cabinet for dolls and their furnishings to live in. I have a tea set and some other things that I hope my 9 year old DGD will enjoy when she visits in December. This surely gives me incentive to get the room organized and boxes that don't belong in there removed.  

I wanted to share because I was just dumbstruck that Zoe learned about sewing from My Little Pony!

GREAT story Ginger!! My three grands are boys, but I hope to get them involved in my crafts. I, too, have things in my sewing room for them in later years. Right now, they don't even know that room exists as they are 2, 2, and 20 months! I find the 20 month to be the most advanced with his hands so he might be my guy....

I have drawers of buttons and beads and strings and popsicle sticks and glittery things and bling and so many cool things to keep a kid amused...like me!!

I always envy those of you with grandkids.  But then I was never able to have the joys and tears of the perquisite to grandkids either. 

On other hand there are at least 30 or 40 who think of me as either aunt B or grandma B. And at one point when our contempories were raising kids DH and I added up the number of kids whose parents had named us as guardians in their wills, well over 20. 

I like to think DH was right when he said there was a reason we couldn't have our own.  If we had we wouldn't have had the time for so many of our "adopteds".

Chabba I second what Lisa wrote.  If I hadn't had stong adults in my life I don't know where I would be now.  You are doing the thing that is needed. I hope you have a lot of fun doing it too!
