AFTER Lumpectomy - self breast exams

I have always been diligent about self breast exams.

But now I feel a bit lost - my breast does not feel the same and actually feels like it changes a lot. I have no idea what normal feels like in this breast.

Just wondering if there are others who feel this way after lumpectomy, and what did you do? thanks!

Hi Shayne,

I feel the same way. My breast doesn't feel the same, so I just check weekly and try to remember how it felt the week before. I go for my mammogram at the end of December, so I am hoping for the best.

I am sorry I wasn't much help, but we are in this together.

I get my 6mo mammo dec 10th........will report back.......a bit nervous about it....

Shayne.....for some reason this post is on here twice, so I did respond on the other one. How was your mammogram and what did you find out?

yea - not sure how that happened. I had to cancel and reschedule for January - my insurance will pay for it then.
