As of about 0830 this morning, I am done with radiation! The worst skin burns are getting better since they have not gotten zapped for several days. Aquaphor ointment has really helped, but is messy and clothes stick to it. My hair is coming back in, still quite short, my eyebrows are back and lashes still pretty short.
My biggest problem lately is a blood clot around my port. My left arm was suddenly red, purple in places and swollen. It is much better, but I am on blood thinners for the next three months. I will then have a CT to decide if it is safe to remove the port. Since I am an RN, I knew how awful this could be. I wished for ignorance, I would have not been so scared.
So I have some MD appts in the next few months, but that is all.

Wow TNN, that is scary. I hope that clot goes away and things settle down.
I suspect we are all done with radiation now, or close to it? I am healing incredibly fast. My last radiation treatment was a week and a half ago. The skin is noticeably improved every day. The brown skin is steadily peeling off and the new skin underneath looks great, very close to my normal skin! I did not expect things to improve so rapidly, so I am really pleased. I am using Aloe Vera gel 2x a day. I hope everyone else is healing so well.

Tomorrow is my last rad. My skin held up fairly well all things considered until last week so my RO gave me the silver creme ( I know I'm calling it the wrong thing but I think you all know what I mean!) and that is helping. However my breast is really sore on the inside and the nipple. Almost like when I was nursing. Hope that stops!

Doing my "I'm Done" happy dance!
However now I feel misplaced like what do I do now? Besides get ready for the holidays and study for an exam in 3 weeks?😕 -
Hi Karen! I have the same breast tissue soreness and my nipple has finally gone down in size. I am 4 weeks out! The breast soreness is going away very slowly. Also, after I was done rads, it got worse before it got better. Most women just get skin soreness so thanks for sharing. I was starting to think something was very wrong.

Congratulations Karen! I am sure you will find lots of things to do! I did feel a little thrown-off for a few days...but life got back to "normal" after that. Feels great!
