garden, your excitement got ME excited for you too!!!! Have you packed and re-packed yet???? SO happy for you to have a carrot!!
-
Garden, Sounds heavenly. Enjoy the sun for all of us NW ladies.
-
I always get off the plane and immediately realize that nothing I've brought is cool enough to wear. Fortunately they sell clothing there. Have fun.

A different owl..
-
The spotted owl looks almost cuddly next to that one Lisa.
-
you are right..
-
It's all in the eye colour!
-
The horn like feathers and the tiger like stripes help though!
-
LOVE the owls!!!
Yah - I am really really excited. SO MUCH looking forward to warm weather and swimming. I haven't been in the water (to swim) since my mastectomy - hope I still remember how...
Barbe - usually I pack the night before we leave... but this time I've already got one suitcase packed and will pack the second this weekend. Usually we only take carryon (since the airlines have gotten so weird), but this time we're NOT doing carryons and sending two suitcases so we can take Christmas presents (including bottles of wine) and not have to worry so much. Also, we're gonna be there for a month and need a few more clothes than we normally take.
Plus, someone is actually coming to look at our house today (I can always imagine that SOMEONE will buy it SOMETIME in the not too distant future....) and then I can actually think that I reallio trulio WILL be able to retire next year...
-
garden, you're not putting wine through baggage are you???
-
garden...What island are you going to?
Barb....When I went to visit my DD in Hawaii..I had 2 big olive oil bottles.....I know it's crazy but DD comes first....
Hugs♥
-
If you pad the bottles well enough, it can happily arrive safe and sound..I did it..
many times
-
garden - so happy for you that you are going to Hawaii. You know you have to take lots of pictures and share them with us, right??? especially of the beaches!
Enjoy the anticipation of the trip and then have safe travels and the time of your life on the trip.
-
My step-mom just came back from a trip and she opened her laptop and the screen is shattered!!! How does THAT happen???
-
Barbe - yes, we're putting wine through luggage handling. I've done it many times and hope our luck continues. If it doesn't then we'll be wearing purple clothes! Was the laptop in carry-on? I never put my laptop in the overhead because people shove their stuff in so roughly. I'm really short, so don't have leg room problems, and anything like a laptop goes under the seat in front of me. (One of the reasons I don't like the bulkhead seats).
I'll take pictures, but I'm not much of a shutterbug, and my camera isn't much...
I truly am looking forward to this. We originally booked it a little over 2 years ago. The day after we completed the arrangements I went and had my yearly mammogram.... -

Leaving the Harbor in this mornings fog according to the photographer.
-
Oh chabba...breathless!!!!
Garden, what a great way to close off that period of "waiting for your trip to begin"!!!!
-
I'm really happy about this trip, partly because it does make me feel like I can put the misery of the last 2 years somewhat behind me. Kind of a "reboot" back to the plans we had prior to BC. It's been a bit more stressful planning it this time, because of the need to work in other people's plans. Last time we had planned it, we were going to do the island hopping to visit the relatives ourselves, but this time they are coming to visit us. You'd think that would be less stress, but that's not exactly what happened.....
-
On my way home from the dentist I saw these pelicans
these pelicans..we fighting other birds for the prey..
I wish I had had my good camera
-
OH, angry pelican.
-
We just see the gray pelicans here. Bet the white ones are lovely to see in flight and diving!
-
hope they helped make the day better Liz :0
-
