Wednesday Weigh In

Up one. :-(
But I've been riding the bike 10 miles nearly every day. Today i did 16. I've upped the tension this week too, so hopefully things will kick in soon. I'm finally starting to feel more like myself....6 weeks post BMX. -
hi ladies, I'm up a few from last weigh-in. Had surgery (ooph) on Friday so only exercise has been gentle walking. Also sorry for TMI but my colon is just getting back to normal after a few days on those darn pain pills. Got off them Sunday, couldn't take it anymore. Geez, I'd be a lousy junkie! Hopefully, things will settle down and I'll see a lower number next week.
-
liefie - I started taking a B-complex supplement - it's a liquid that you put under your tongue for 30 seconds before you swallow it. I think it's helping my energy levels, and my MO says it can help with joint pain as well.
Dulcigirl - great work! Forget the scale for now...you are doing wonderful things for your body. Are you wearing those hot shoes on the bike?
Badger - I remember those days. At one point I felt like every single heavy, cheesy comfort casserole my friends had brought (and I dutifully ate) was still inside me. UGH. Hope you find some relief soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Down 1.6 tonight! But I had to dress like it was summer...wore my lightest weight leggings, a thin top, and I layered a big scarf and jacket on top of that...which I took off just before I stepped on the scale!
I realized that some of the things we learned in class about preparing for holiday meals had really paid off. One thing we were taught was to prioritize our favorite foods.
In other words, we could have rolls and butter any day, but Grandma's special stuffing might be a once-a-year treat, so that would definitely go on the list. I was able to bypass a lot of things that way. I even found out I don't like turkey all that much!
-
Up 1 to 133.5. I'm blaming it on being out of town, eating what was fixed, and not exercising.
-
Up .2 - not as bad as it could be considering the Tkg dinner plus days of leftovers . . .
-
But Botty, you are DOWN - that's what we like to see! Especially with Thanksgiving thrown in there. Way to go!
-
Just got home from weight watchers and I lost 3.6 this week woot woot!!!
I even went to zumba today protective nipple cones and all. I didn't take my sweatshirt off I was really sweating. Got to my PS tomorrow I hope I can stop wearing them now.
-
Good for you, Carrol2!
I went to my WW meeting today and was thrilled that i'm still at 157.4. I had a bad weekend with a Christmas party/dinner on Saturday night and a buffet lunch on Sunday with lots of "comfort" food.
-
WOOT WOOT Carrol2!!!
YAY carolehalston!!!
-
Great job, Carrol and carole!
I was also stunned that my scale showed 200 grams down despite all the cake I ate.
-
Up one....ate all weekend with various events, not suprising but I have to get back into being good on all the other days!!
-
Nothing. Grrrrrr!!!
I'm loving my exercise bike and would gladly ride 10-20 miles a day, but have to "park it" temporarily til I see a lymphedema specialist. After last week's 16 mile ride I felt some swelling in the underarm/bra line area on the side with node removal. :-( I'm hoping it is leftovers from my BMX (7 weeks out now). Any thoughts? But I'm not taking chances.
So I'm stuck at 148 today and will focus on healthy eating even more while waiting to bike again. I did 11 miles on Monday since the swelling had gone away, but it's feeling a little puffy today. I'm probably being paranoid, but even if it isn't lymphedema it could be my body saying "not yet!" Sigh. -
Bummer, Dulcigirl. Hope you can get back on that bike soon.
-
Up 1 to 162 - wrong direction, but also not surprising for this time of year. Too much temptation, too little willpower. The next 3 weekends all have christmas party events, not to mention the neighborhood cookie swap!
-
wow yeah temptation is getting the best of everyone it seems. The only good thing about the fact that I don't have a lot of family in my life is the temptation is less. Still tough to resist the sweets. so far so good for me though.
is there a fitness board you all go on? can some post a link for me?
-
Hi Carol,
Many of us post our exercise here - it keeps us accountable! Great group of ladies, please join us.
-
Up 2 lbs. grrrr. Not walking, and sitting around the hospital with a snack machine every 50 ft. doesn't help... why don't they have low cal, healthy stuff as readily available as the high cal junk?
-
Up 2 to 134.5. I blame it on lack of exercise. We've had 2 weeks of almost constant rain--hard at times. Yesterday I wanted to walk and before I could get ready it started raining again. We're setting records for amounts.
-
Hi Carol, check out pat's link. At least when we exercise, we don't feel quite as bad about eating because muscle weighs more than fat (that's my story and I'm sticking to it
).
-
Thanks for the link it helps to be accountable. Plus share the same exercise issues from all of this.
-
hi ladies, I'm down 2 more pounds despite being on exercise restriction from ooph.
Blessings, LOL at the heavy cheesy comfort casserole - what a perfect description!
Dulcigirl, I know someone who switched to a recumbent bike because her regular bike aggravated her LE. Had to do with the position of her hands and the pressure on her arms. So you're right to back off until you see the specialist. Hope you see him/her soon.
-
I'm already using a recumbent. Ugh. And I switch hand positions frequently. sometimes I even put my arms straight up and pump my fists.
I get to pick up my referral/script tomorrow when I get my next fill. Hopefully they'll have an opening soon, or a cancellation. Thanks! -
Well, when I joined Optifast last March, I told them I wanted to weigh 140 pounds. The doctor and the nurse both told me that this may be too ambitious for me...that at 5'5", they'd rather see me at 145. They said I would need some "reserves" in case I got sick.
Well, I did lose 60 pounds, and met their goal of 145. My BMI went from 33.9 (Obese) to 24.1 (Normal).
On Tuesday, I seem to have caught the flu from my FIL (Mr. "I'M NOT CONTAGIOUS!") and have lost 2 more pounds in two days. Now I understand "reserves"....
-
((Blessings)) congrats on losing 60 pounds, that's awesome! Flu is not a fun way to lose weight. Glad you had those reserves, and hope you feel better soon.
-
Aw, thanks, badger...
-
Same today.
Dulcigirl, hope you are able to bike again soon. Maybe you can break it up into shorter rides throughout the day? Your body is still adjusting. I used to have to frequently raise my hands and pump my fists on long rides but years later I hardly have to do it. The LE specialist will definitely be a help.
-
No change - still 162 - but after two weekend parties I feel this is a major accomplishment! Two parties coming up next weekend - and the holiday lunch at work tomorrow - and no willpower! Stay strong ladies, let's try to maintain at least through the rest of this holiday season.
-
Same, which is good because I am also in the Christmas party cycle....one Monday after work, another tonight. I'm another girl who just can't say no (to appetizers)!
-
Can't remember what last Wed.'s weight was since I weigh every day, but I'm happy with 158.5, which is just 1 lb above my low weight since going back to WW. My goal for Dec. is not to put on lbs.
-
Down 1.5 to 133. Hoping to keep it down for my weigh-in at the doc's tomorrow. Haven't been to any parties--which may or may not help.
Ruth, I'm with you on the appetizers.
