Hello!  I know there's a lot of information out there...but hoping to get some concise insight here.  What are your best findings on how to guide your nutrition to help ensure NO recurrence?  Thanks! (I'm sorry if many threads like this already exist).

I just keep hearing to stay away from processed food and go more towards a plant-based diet.   If not vegetarian, limit fatty protein.  I would be interested in hearing about this too!

Just saw my MO this morning, and kind of asked her the same question.

As Chief of the Oncology Department, and a diligent researcher, she said that there were no definitive studies on correlations between certain foods and risk of recurrence.

To avoid a PRIMARY cancer, there might be some evidence that specific foods should be avoided, but not for those who have already been dx'd.

So I asked her what I could do to reduce my future risk - just eat healthy foods (more plant-based than red-meat based), eat balanced, nutritious meals, cut back on sugars, get my vitamins from real food instead of supplements, and avoid processed foods, preservatives, and chemicals?

The answer was YES to all of the above.

jammies, the main Breastcancer.org site has an extensive Nutrition section, which includes Nutrition and Breast Cancer Risk Reduction. Also at the main site, there's a Lower Your Risk section that talks about the range of risk factors, and how to help reduce them.
