how do i help?

Options

I'm new to all of this, my nan was diagnosed almost 4weeks ago and is going for surgery tomorrow to remove what they can. She then starts radiotherapy the week after Christmas. She's not dealing with the diagnosis very well and i want to help all i can but don't know how.

It's her birthday in 2 weeks and thought it might be nice to make a pamper hamper for her to help pick her up when she's feeling down. I have no idea if there are any do's or dont's or must haves post op, any ideas or suggestions?

I don't think you got responses to this because of your phrasing.  I don't know what a pamper hamper is?  What kind of surgery did she get - mastectomy?  lumpectomy?

Things that are always nice are movies, books, maybe a kindle or something if she likes to read.  Your company is the best thing.  She might need help cooking or cleaning.

But, whatever a pamper hamper is, I hope you figure it out!

I'm guessing a pamper hamper is like a gift basket? Things to pamper her while she's recovering? When I was recovering I appreciated puzzle books, scarves, cards with loved one's notes in them, perhaps a journal, lotions and aloe vera. If she's going to have chemotherapy, scarves or hats. Anything that she enjoys will be appreciated.
