My Mom's Diagnosis
Hi There,
My mom was diagnosed with bc today. She had stage 1b 22 years ago and now she has what appears to be a .8mm in her same breast. I am SO scared it's a reoccerence versus a new one-but gosh it's been 22 years! She is 70 years old and I am so so scared for her! Funny they told us we didn't have the gene! Yeah right!
I am so scared of what her tx might be... Any thoughts/ feedback would be appreciated.

Hi there,
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. But, it really really sounds to me like it would be a new primary vs. a recurrence, if it's a small tumor in the same breast, and that much later!! I'm sure she will be OK!! Try not to worry too much...

I think your mom's situation sounds very favorable. A tiny lump in the breast after so many years bodes very well I think. I bet she'll be fine after standard treatment.

Pure, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, my prayers will be with her. 22 yrs is great, I agree it does sound like a new primary. I have wondered alot about the whole gene thing...I am + and have no BC hx. in my family, none...it can be so confusing.
