I have a rash where I had radiation, it extends a bit further down and wraps around to my back. It is itchy. My ribs are sensitive to the touch. I put a call into my Dr, a little late in the day yesterday, but haven't heard back. Anyone have an experience like this?

MTI.......I finished rads at the end of May this year.....I have had small rashes on and off

Occasionally, not itchy or painful. Hope that helps.

I had this earlier this month. Is it plaque like or lil bumps. I ended up having a fungal infection. They said not to use OTC stuff at the seem office like I did because steroids can make it worse. I was only 3 no out of treatment but its scary regardless. Hugs. I did go see my Mo before the seem to verify a reoccurrence. They said it didn't look like one so they referred me to a derm. O guess the radiated skin made it look a lil different than a traditional fungal infection.

You just reminded me .....I too had a fungal infection, but that was right after rads....

Under my breast and under my arm.....was put on a cortisone cream .......lasted about a week......was itchy and painful at the same time, but cleared up after two weeks.

What comes to mind, because of all the ads on tv, could it be shingles?  Hopefully not.

Mine was definitely not shingles. I know what shingles looks like as my DH got them a couple of months ago.....very painful, but for MT1, it's worth looking into.

I thought perhaps it was shingles too because I had one day of intense nerve like pain, but the rash is so focused to the area of radiation that I would seriously hesitate to call it that. It is very itchy today.

I would get checked ok ASAP. Just in case it is shingles, the sooner you start on the meds the better. Shingles can cause many problems. Good luck & keep us posted.

MT1, I was wondering how you are, went looking and saw you posted on another thread about having shingles.  I'm really sorry that's what it is but glad you were alerted to the possibility.  I hope the SE subside easily.  Hugs.

Thanks Marple. Yes, I had shingles. I think I had an easy case, the painful part lasted two full days and is tapering off. If it weren't for this site, I would have thought it was just an odd set of symptoms. So thanks to you and everyone else who helped me figure it out.

Kudos to you MT1 for being vigilant.  I'm so glad for you that you nipped it in the bud.
