Can IBC symptoms be somewhere other than the breast?

I have had a red, puffy patch under my arm and breast for about 4 months. I had stage 1 invasive ductile carcinoma in 2010 with lumpectomy, chemo and radiation. My dermatologist took a couple of biopsies of the tissue to see if it was IBC. Everything I read about IBC is in the breast. Is it possible to not have any symptoms in the breast and still have IBC? I hate the wait for results!!

If it been there for 4 months and not majorly progressed probably not IBC. IBC is usually VERY fast - you can not know anything is 'there' one day but it definately be there the next.  For me, I had nothing that indicated any issue going on but by the next night there was a very obvious enlarged node under arm.  Saw my PA the next week (she was out of town) and  in that week node enlarged more, breastwas immediately sent for new mammo which turned into also a sono and 2 biopsies taht afternoon and path. report the next morning said what was what expected - IBC.  It is also possible to be IBC AND another type.

I'm still waiting the results of my biopsy. Thanks for your comments. I am now wondering if I have lymphadema. I've developed another red, puffy patch on my back. My bras are tight and I've had a couple of days where I could not put my rings on. All my puffy, red skin is on the right side where I had breast cancer. My oncologist is arranging an appointment with a lymphadema specialist.

Biopsy results show no cancers!  Yea!  Now I'm waiting to see a Lymphedema specialist.
