I was about to have surgery to remove my breast but now since its spread I can't. I'm scared that now that it has spread. I have 2 kids and I want to live long enough to see them grow up more and get married. *crying*

I would post this in the Stage IV forum or the forum called Just Diagnosed with a Recurrence or Metastasis, since that is what you are now. Those men and women would probably see your post better than here and I am sure you would get more replies.
My hear aches for you. I hope you repost under those forums so that those who have been through what you are, or in it as well, can help you.

sending hugs and prayers and agreeing that you should cross post...ppl who can help better will see then...

Sweetie, I am so sorry. Will send good thoughts your way. Remember, many many women live for years with a dx as yours and consider themselves living with a treatable but chronic disease. Hugs.

Warm and healing thoughts to you......

I'm so sorry. Maybe this can help, it's not the same but it's hopeful. My dad was diagnosed with very aggressive lung cancer, his lymph node was the size of an orange. We were told my dad had 3 months to live. Now u have to understand my dad, he's a very positive thinker, so we never told him what the doctor said. He went through chemotherapy with no side effects, and within 5 months the lymph node shrunk to normal size, cancer went into remission, or as my dad says, i never had cancer. it's been over 15 years since he had lung cancer and he's doing greatDo during the time, of chemotherapy, my dad used to picture birds coming and taking the cancer cells out of his body. I just got diagnosed with breast cancer and although I didn't get his positive thinking, I do believe I got his survivor genes. Every day in the name of God I command the cancer to get out if me. Stay in faith. Hugs and prayers sent to you.

I'm very, very sorry for you diagnosis. But I hope it helps for you to know that I know people who have beaten cancer in the lung too. Find an onc who will be very aggressive in treatment. If there is a chance to be rid of it by removing part of the lung, then I say go for it!
It may not keep you NED forever, but get to NED and try to stay there as long as you can. Because you never know what treatments are coming just around the corner. Nanotechnology is making great breakthroughs in cancer treatments. !!

asinot - So sorry to hear that your cancer has spread to the lung. I can certainly understand your fear, but all hope is not lost. There are many who have had cancer metastasize to another part of the body and are doing well. I do not have lung mets but I know there are still lots of options for tx out there.
Join us on the stage IV forum and you will find there are plenty of women who will be able to help you with your questions as well as a tremendous amount of knowledge and support.

Asinot,
I am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I was just diagnosed 3 weeks ago myself with mets to lungs and bones. The first couple of weeks, I was an absolute mess - I could not stop crying. Now at just over 3 weeks, I am getting a grip on myself. Believe me, you will too...many, MANY women live for years with various treatments.
Once you get your treatment plan in place, I think you will also feel a little better. This is an awful, and hard thing to go through. I feel like it's a nightmare that I just can't wake up from. It's the first and last thing I think about each day.
Please know that you are not alone. The people here are wonderfully supportive. I have already learned so much in my short time here. These boards have kept me sane, when I was sure I'd lose it any second.
Please keep posting. Let us know how you're doing.
Hugs -

Asinot, I have a friend who I used to bowl with, she was dx 10 years ago and within the last year had a spot show up on her lung. She did some treatment, not sure if it was chemo or rads, but she got back on some type of drug and her tumor shrunk and is pretty much dormant and her doctors are happy. She is just living along side the little bugger, and she still bowls each Monday.

I was recently diagnosed with recurrence too. I know its scarey, but it is not a death sentance. You can live with stage IV metastasis. Never give up the fight. Start were you are....use what you have....do what you can.
Big hugs from Alice -
Sending you hugs and positive thoughts as well. I too thought I had this beat 4years ago and was just recently diagnosed with a chest wall recurrence and bone mets. I started chemo yesterday all went well. I have been on these boards looking for inspiration and support. Please check out the stage IV forum for more support.
