Life on aromasin

I take all of mine at the same time in the morning with milk. I don't have any noticeable bad reactions. I can't take mine separate or I forget. So... At 7:00 a.m. down they go.
-
Same here.....if i had to spread them out, Id forget them too. I sometimes forget them as it is as I started taking them at night.......and im so tired, I just forget . Might switch back to mornings.
Does anyone know if they make a 30day pill holder? I think that would be better for me......
-
My oncologist just told me to alwys to take aromasin with food...apparently a trial was run with blood being tested on women who had taken their tablets with and without food. The blood of those who had taken their aromasin with food showed a 60% higher uptake of the aromasin than those who took it on an empty stomach.
He didnt tell me anything about not taking other supplements at the same time though.
-
Im going to ask my nutritionist.........
-
I think it would say in the insert that comes with the drug if you can't take them together with other drugs. I just have a hard time swallowing them so take them an hour or so apart.
-
hopeful healing, I was told not to take my multi vitimin with my calcium as it interferes with the adsorption of calcium, so I now take either it or my calcium first hing in the morning and then wait a couple of hours to take the other. My other dose of calcium is in the afternoon, again a couple of hours away from other supplements. My Aromasin is after dinner(supper) and I wait an hour or so before taking any other supplements.
-
All I know is when I take an antibiotic (like now) don't take it with my vitamins or something else I don't remember now. OMG LOL
-
Camille, seriously, how much can one brain take, lol!
-
I take my BP pill first thing in the morning and then circle the date on my calendar. But sometimes I take out the bottle, then circle the date and then turn on the electrical kettle. And then I can't remember if I took the pill or not---LOL
Hm - did I take it or not? If I didn't is two too many. Will I be too dizzy to drive today? Or, would it be chancy to NOT take the pill. My mom had a stroke when she quit her BP pills. But was that after just one pill? And before surgery I was told I must take my PB pill that morning, but no other water or food. So it must be serious if you miss a pill.
Hm ---I can't decide - so I take a half pill LOL
Yorkiemom - my now my brain is swimming.
-
Dogs, I relate! My method is to have all the untaken pills in one spot on the kitchen counter. When I take one I move it to another designated spot for pills taken. I have found this to be pretty fool proof, as long as I don't get terporarily distracted and forget to move the pill! Now I've got to figure out a method for traveling. Maybe I'll have different baggies for taken and not taken.
-
The bags sound like a good plan. I also keep the dogs' pills in a different drawer in a different room. Don't want to mix those with mine.
-
I do the same thing! My yorkie is currentlyon 2 antibiotics for double pneumonia (she's fine now) and has her monthly heartworm med. Those are never near my meds.
-
I put my pill in a neat little dish. If it is empty I took them.
-
Gotta love it!
-
hahahahaha--all our efforts with pills is a full time job.
-
Camille, so true! If anybody had told me after I retired that keeping track of pills all day would be my new "job" I would've laughed. Hahaha, NOT. Well, I guess I am laughing, cause what else can one do?
-
Here's my routine. My daily pills are in a zip wrap bag. My vitalmins are just by themselves, my if I need the pills are seperate--my nite pills near me and closest are my pain and xanax--I wonder why LOL
-
I remember meeting a guy years ago while we were walking our dogs. I was in my 60s; he in his 70s. He mentioned that he took 6 pills a day! I was horrified, but also felt very smug! At that point, I took NO pills - shortly thereafter I began having dizzy spells; lots of testing was done. Some heart issues were discovered, plus my BP which used to be called "borderline" was now known as "high"..
I should have enjoyed my "pill-less" life more when I had it.
-
I think we must be geniuses to be able to remember where everything is and come up with all these tricks to keep ourselves properly medicated.

I never took ANY pills until this year......I remember, any time I went to a doctor (not often) they would ask for my "list" of medications/vitamins etc. And they were always shocked that there was nothing on my list.
Now Ive got one Rx and a handful of supplements.......guess its not too bad.....
-
pills, the number keeps upping!
I have my morning stuff, in a small cup that I take to work and take after my bfast
then I have my nightie night ones, those are upstairs. No way can I forget the nightie ones as that includes my alergy ones and if I forget...I wake up reaching for the tissues!
PILLs dumb things!
hoping to be able to end the aromasin in 13 months...

I had to recently upgrade to a bigger weekly pill container (my old one could hold 2-3 pills). Not so long ago, nothing, since then, 4 different prescription and a couple of supplements daily. The pills are fine, but it's the vit. D and supplements that take all the room. Even with all my pills for the week rationed out, I still come home occasionally after school and see that day's pills still in the container. Thanks, chemo/menopause brain!

I am still looking for a calcium supplement that doesn't slow down my digestion. wish I could just do yogurt etc but am lactose intolerant..
-
Lisa, I take calcioum citrate. I use the Kirland brand but I have also taken Citracal. I am also lactose intolerant.
-
Lisa 1012 - I am also very lactose intolerant, but I can eat Wallaby yogurt without problems. Also a small amount of Stoneybrook and a new Greek style yogurt, but cannot remember the name right now. All the rest cause problems for me. You might try sampling some of the higher quality yogurts and see if any will work for you.

When my mother used to visit me in her later years, she would come with a bag just for her pills!!!!!!. Very often I would find the odd pill on the floor here and there, and would get so irritated at my poor mom......OMG ....I am my mother now (God rest her soul)
I take so many pills now and my 26 yr old (eyes like a hawk) finds the odd pill here and there, on the floor. Mom, forgive me. Never criticize, judge or be angry at someone
Until you have walked in their shoes. I'm sure my Mom is having a good laugh at me now......lol -
One time I accidentally took my Aromasin twice and was wide awake all night. THAT finally convinced me to figure out a system. When I take my pain pill first thing in the morning, I turn all my other pill bottles upside down, and then after I take each one, I turn the bottle right-side-up. That way I know at a glance whether I've taken them yet. (Since I still have another pain med to take mid-afternoon, I lay that bottle on its side. When I take the second and final pain pill for the day, I turn the bottle right side up.) Make sense? It works for me.
I am lactose intolerant, and I take a liquid calcium-magnesium-D3 formula by Country Life. I get it from Amazon. I don't have any problems with Greek yogurt, goat cheese, or hard cheese... and I pretend I don't have trouble with ice cream. :-)
-
Lulubee.....love your system.....I should adopt it myself.....I'm always forgetting what I've
taken or have not taken.....thanks for sharing.
