Any single ladies that opted to not have reconstruction?

Options

Looking for some moral support.

I had my BMX on September 27th and sick and tired of hearing stories about other women having NO problem because their husband didn't care if they had one breast or none.  I know these people are trying to help but really, for those that are single, we know it is a completely different scenario.

All feedback is greatly appreciated.

P.S. I know I'm much more than breasts BUT men are very boob obsessed.

I've had an attempted reconstruction and since it did not work, have made the decision that I will not pursue reconstruction any further.  I don't want to go through the journey of Implants.  I'll be 53 next month and have been single for a number of years.  Scary?  Sure you betcha!

My decision was made out of what is best for my own peace of mind, not some male.  If one can't handle it, then he's not the one for me.  Yes, guys are very breast oriented which worked for me pre-BMX with a hefty bosom.  Now, only surgery I'll have is to remove the excess skin that had been saved for reconstruction which won't be happening.  There's quite a bit because of the size involved.

Although you didn't say your age, I can see how that would be a factor.

    Thanks for replying.  I'm 51.

Do you mind my asking what type of reconstruction you tried that failed?  I'm assuming from your implant comment that it was something other than implants.

If I have reconstruction down the road, I'm thinking about muscle sparing DIEP.

I'm sure this journey is much more difficult the larger your breasts had been.  I was lucky to fill an A cup so I suppose I'm thankful for that.

Sorry to hear that your reconstruction didn't work for you.  We should have more options as there are so few out there.

I'm 41 and single. Still recovering from chemo and no dates yet since surgery, but two guys this week told me that my short hair looks hot. Wink I love rockclimbing, body surfing etc. and didn't want to take the risk of losing upper body/ abs./ back strength with reconstruction. If the guy is right for me, he'll be interested in more than my boobs (or lack of one).
