I still don't get the square TE foob thing..
maybe it's because my skin is pretty tight I don't have that effect? My TEs looks ridiculous with a huge gap in between my chest.me_4gvn:
-hugs-! You had your exchange already?! WOW!
To be honest after about a week after my bmx I felt like I needed the anti-depressants. I don't think my parents would understand why though but I don't feel the need anymore now. I was on them once as a teenager and took them for a while (never told the family though). My PS said my implant exchange would be done out patient too! So same day surgery and go home after. I'm not sure if I would need alloderm during my exchange surgery. I won't know till December, but my PS is definitly using my fat from my inner thigh, to fill up the hollow curve on top of the boobs. You can post pics on here there's a 'insert/edit image' button. -
Last fill about 2 weeks ago and damn glad I stopped when I did. They are still sore at night if I lay funny.
Anyway...3 month checkup next week! Break out the Ativan baby...hope everyone is well as can be. Been off living a blessed life and enjoying the last of summer with my 3 year old. I just told myself that I'm going to do so many nice things this next week...a murder mystery with my mom tomorrow, cookout at inlaws on Sunday and biking and hiking in the park with my son next week...I will not let fear of recurrence ruin it.
Anyone else feel selfishly entitled to a stretch of good health and news...like, Lord this had BETTER not come back ...especially not this soon)...I feel good...but I swear when people compliment on my hair coming in I feel nervous (I sport a baseball cap most days) though I had my first trim and spiked my hair yesterday and went out for the first time sans hat/scarf/wig. I can't help but think, man if my hair is growing back this fast...even one lousy cancer cell left that is not responding to the Tamoxifin could be doing heaven knows what????
Such a shitty disease. I am grateful that I am trying to get on with my life though so many other cancers and diseases just take people down with the first blow. Fight on...live on...good
health to us all....

Hi June Bugs! Hope everyone is doing well. I have one more fill to go! Exchange will be mid-November. Dr. Appts have tapered off and I'm starting to feel normal again.
I did get a special invite to a "Fit for the Cure" event. I can go get fitted for a bra and my purchase will "end breast cancer". I should go and see what they think about my TEs. -
Loriio-
I think getting fitted with TEs isn't gonna work. At least I think so. Our TEs are harder and won't "droop" like implants would. I'm not sure if when they measure us now (with TEs) will it be the same after the implant exchange. I somewhat doubt it. But let us know how it goes! -
Hello
mariannm- I was in pain with my exchange which is not normal (so I hear). I had an strange case. My BC was a result from treatment from Hodgkin's Lymphoma (cancer in my yearly 20's). Soooooo, I had a lot of scar tissue that had to be dissected from my left chest wall up to my collar bone. I am going to say 3 weeks or so. I am still having trouble scooping horse feed from the bottom of the barrel and I had a difficult time lifting chairs (7 high) after church was over today. I am doing really well now and have no real pain unless I go overboard (I do sometimes).
Kati916- I took Tordol and it helped alot! I also took Valium with it. Tordol is like Motrin on steroids. I also took Vicodin for break through pain. I got off that stuff asap (I hate feeling drugged!) I also slept with lots of pillows and I found that helped too. I think you should ask your doctor and if he/she is not doing a good job and hearing your concerns or not having compassion for you needs.....get rid of them! Sorry they are not understanding!
Hugs to you all and hope you are all doing well!
Jami

I had my last fill today!!!!! Hooray!! Looks like I'll go in for the switcharoo in 4 or 5 weeks! I am so ready!
-
Yeah Mariannm! I have my last one tomorrow! Yeah Junebugs!
-
mariannm-
you're having your exchange 4-5 wks after your last fill?!
that's kinda early..my last fill was a few wks ago..my PS says he rather wait 3-4 months (3 months for me).
I wish I can have mine done that fast..oh well december is around the corner for me.. -
Yep, he said we wanted to wait at least a month....so I am going for exactly 1 month of the dot!! You can create a new version to the song "all I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth" .lol
-
Lucky!! But I feel like mid December is gonna pass by like within a month even though it's September.
-
I was wrong about it being my last fill. He wants to do 1 or 2 more smaller fills to make sure he has enough extra skin to work with. He says 6 weeks between my last fill and surgery, so now I'll be looking at December also. All I want for Christmas is my 2 new boobs, my 2 new boobs, my 2 new boobs.
-
loriio-
LOL! me too but mines is after xmas & probably new yearsLet's see
Surgery for me was 6/20 and had 150cc during surgery
7/25 - 60cc
8/1 - 90cc
8/8 - 60cc
8/15 - 60cc (last fill)
so i'm a total of 420cc's right now..I wanted 60 more but I decided against it when I saw him 2 wks laterSo i'm actually waiting 5 months really since my last fill..since I'm looking at early January.
I'm meeting my previous surgeon (who did my lumpecomy) on Novemeber 9th
and seeing my plastic surgeon Dec. 28th.oh dear~I got my hopes up for nothing~! T_T" Darn~!!!!
-
loriio....that defininately is catchy!
Kathy-- I wonder why he's having you wait so long....Based on how I'm feeling rigth now, that would be downtright torture!
My surgery is scheduled for Oct 25th :-) 10AM!!
-
hiiii giiiirllllls.
*sigh* i miss u guys!
so, im back today from getting my hopefully last fill! i am like, 960 or 980. everyone lost count last appointment because we didn't write it down on the file, and i never kept track. my body is TIRED from carrying these watermelons. and i found out that is like a litre on each side. needless to day my DH is like, so happy! lol. and i don't think my exchange will be soon. initially he said my exchange would be three months out from my last fill. i asked him last time if id have new boobs for christmas and he laughed and said no. bummer.
for now. im sore. BUT...they look good. i love that my new mounds dont droop. i love that i don't have to wear a bra. i love that when i lay down in bed there is no more adjusting. i am though. very very tired. growing new muscle takes a lot of energy i guess. the run for the cure is this weekend. our running track went under construction at the beginning of this month so i let my training slip. so i guess i will be walking for the cure. lol. but, it will be a positive thing to do with my girls nonetheless.
this is the first fill where i feel like crap. maybe because its my period too. blah.
-
Mariannm-
It's because I'm still in school. I could have it done mid December but I won't see my PS again till late December.so no new boobs before Xmas hahaha! He told me he would like to wait at least 3months after my last fill but we're doing it over 3 b/c of school. Bummer!
Awww you're having yours done really fast! My bday is coming soon and it really is a pain to even think of partying with my rock boobs.
NanG-
960cc's!?!?!? 0_0 wha?!!!!!!!!??!?!?
Wait~~what's your height and weight!? I know if I go that big it'll look like Pam Anderson on me haha
My PS said they usually wait 3months too. It's because they want us to form a scar capsule atound the expander so the implants can sit properly when they do the exchange.
Idk how I still feel about being braless after the implants though haha I've gotten so used to it now but I hate when I wear a tank and my nipples are like "hello world" lol so I either layer my tanks or wear the nipple cover thing. Haha -
Hi Junebugs. I hope everyone is doing well. Just wanted to say hi and announce for the first time in my life, I'm voluptuous!

Hey girls. just wanted to post in here to see if anyone has had discomfort with tissue expanders? i got my last fill last week and my right side which was the cancer side is really uncomfortable. at the back of the top of my arm. its almost more the back than my actual arm but its that whole region. so, if you were to lift your right arm up in the sky, and grab your armpit...the region where your fingertips reach...THAT IS THE SPOT. it sooooooooo sore. im not sure if its like the muscle or the skin or the nerves coming back to life...it somewhat feels like, when you are bruised and you can't even brush the skin. so i think it might be that nerve parasthesia or whatever its called but its sooooooooooooooo uncomfortable. like, i forget about it and then my husband will touch my back and im like....owwwwww....and then i realize ive been frowning and in pain all day but just enduring. and notlike, deep pain like a sore back, more like....touchable sunburn pain.
-
@NanG, I can't answer your TE question, but it's good to hear from you. Maybe that TE is stretching out scar tissue from your lymph node removal?
Tomorrow I will have my 13th of 26 weekly chemo infusions. Halfway through!
-
Hello Ladies, I'm new to the group and have been reading over some of your stories. You all are amazing! I was informed today that I will be going in for my mastectomy and inserting the tissue expanders on October 25th... trying to find out what to expect, like how long should I expect to be in the hospital? What kind of limitations will I have. Then I read about these drains and I'm thinking, geezus. What the heck am I about to endure? I haven't looked at any photos of mastectomies, instead just tried visualizing what to expect.. Feeling a little anxiety coming on.
-
Exchange time Nov 1st! Anyone else done already? NanG - TEs were sure uncomfortable after last 2 fills. Actually pain would wake me up at night if I laid on my side wrong. That has finally abated about 3 or 4 weeks after last fill.
Passed my 3 month checkup with minor scare (thought I felt something in my neck, Onc confirmed and sent me to my surgeon but she said nothing...your thinner than you were and that's not where it shows up again if it comes back)....ok good enough for me...seeYaBYE!!! whew...
Second hair cut (ok, trim) tomorrow. Still too short for me but I'm off to Vegas on Tuesday baby. Hope everyone is doing well. Love these days where BC is down on the list of daily worries. I hope exchange goes as well as the BMX did or better...got a lot of fun fall and holiday stuff to look forward to with my son.
Carry on sisters...carry on...
-
Just scheduled my exchange for Dec. 4th. I have a lot going on between now and then so hopefully it will go quickly. I'm done with fills so I at least ill be fairly comfortable. We're hosting an exchange student from China next week and I'm traveling to DC/VA during election week (yikes). I hope everyone is healing (physically and emotionally) and enjoying life. I have a friend who had an abnormal mammogram last week so I'm going with her tomorrow for another mammo and ultrasound. Prayers for her are much appreciated!
Blessings and hugs to all the June Bugs!
Lori -
Did my exchange Thursday! Yay!! pain is minimal...they are very awkward still and I think it will take a couple weeks to fee more normal, but glad to be on this path now!
-
Mariannm- that's so awesome! My exchange won't be till January I think
so sad
-
Is anyone experiencing rib pains? It's been little over 4 months since I had the expanders..and this past week I've noticed discomfort in my ribs (on my sides, back and in front)..But my upper part of my body doesn't hurt. I haven't been sleeping well either (granted I have insomnia issues also)..but it's uncomfortable to even lay down on my back and my sides now..and forget about sleeping on the foobs.
I won't even have my implant exchange till January.. =[
-
GAH! The ps just called and my exchange is on Dec 17!! That is in like twelve days! Suddenly i just got really scared and started to cry. The last surgery was hard and hurt so bad. Im SO nervous!
somebody email me jesuslovestheongwehowe@hotmail.com and tell me its going to be ok!
-
Nang-
I sent you an email I hope you recieved it! -
I did Kathy! Thank u so much! I'm so nervous but inside I'm getting excited. I wonder what it will be like to have breast implants? Will I look hotter? Lol...I hope so. I freakin hope so....because after all this I think I'm about due for something that makes me feel better about my physical appearance!!
-
Awesome! I have that way too. In a way I am so used to the tissue expanders and not wearing a bra since June -___-" I wonder what the implants would look like once it settles, what size I'll be, my scars,..it's soo much to think about. My friend the other day hugged me, and she said my foobs caused her pain LOL and t was a gently hug hahahaha
-
Nan - looks like you & I are scheduled for implants at roughly the same time ... I'm set for 12/14. And, like you, I'm scared to death. It's like revisiting a bad nightmare. I was finally feeling more like my old self and bam ... back to being the crappy cancer patient again. Will keep you in my prayers for a fast recovery :-) Thinking of my June Bug friends!
-
Nan and my3sunz42, I had my exchange on 11/16. It is nothing like the BMX. There was some pain, but on a scale of 1-10, about a 3-4 for 2 days. I had/still have to remember not to do too much. Have lifting, pushing, pulling restrictions for another 2 weeks. I've been back to work for 2 weeks. I didn't have any drains. My PS did some pocket work because I felt the TEs were too far under my arms and didn't like the brushing. Feel free to send me a PM if you need more info. Best wishes.
