    I hope this photo shows (all I see is a box but no photo), it it the wall hanging of my paper pieced Easter Eggs. It was made with reproduction fabrics. I copied the link from my face book account.

    Sheila, just a box here too. Facebook is just a simple copy and paste right into the text box normally. Don't use the "tree box" or URL link at all. Is that how you did it?

    Here is my 35 Easter eggs and a peep quilt.  The eggs and the peep were done with a paper pieced quilt block. I used reproduction fabrics for the eggs and the pieced binding. I arranged them in the rows of 12 to represent the egg carton, I placed the eggs in a rolling pattern for the tradition of Easter egg roll. I used a green blender fabric in the borders to represent hiding the eggs in the grass and hand quilted a basket weave pattern to represent putting the eggs in their Easter Basket. I know I put a lot of thought in this wall hanging.

    Here is my Ribbons of Hope wall hanging. The ribbons and hearts are also done with a 3 piece, paper pieced block. My niece wrote this poem on the back of her race for the cure shirt in 2004. I asked permission to put it on my wall hanging. This picture was taken after the 2010 race so I am missing 2 pins, the past two years they ran out of pins and I missed out on them. I hand quilted entwining hearts in the borders to mimic the pieced heart blocks.

    Here is my crocheted choir of angels. they are about 4.5 inches tall, each one took about 4 hours to complete. I presold these to a friend just by her seeing the photo in the book with the instructions. I am working now on a 7.5 inch treetop angel.

    Ginger I looked up Childrens Corner patterns, they are precious. Sheila love the pictures, I never learned to paper piece.  Those angels are beautiful.

    Thank you everyone for your compliments. I do love the paper piecing, it makes sewing small pieces together easier and more accurate. When ever paper piecing is mentioned at my quilt guild, some of the ladies complain it saying it is too hard to do. they just haven't been shown the short cuts that make it easy.  I have purchased a discontinued set of patterns that are paper pieced wall hangings showing the 4 seasons. Each completed block is about 12 x 15 inches finished. I am working on collecting the fabrics to use for these projects.

    I love paper piecing! It's truly the only way my seams ever come out even!!! Laughing

    But it takes so long for my brain to get in the mode, after I haven't done it for a while...

    I am so ready to do something other than red dresses!  Only one girl came by for a fitting this weekend.  Three dresses are complete except for hemming.  Only one girl has shoes, but she didn't stop by.  Had to increase the final dress by 4" so I am nervous to make sure I increased it properly. 

    The wedding dress shop gave FDIL the wrong modesty panel and lacing for the back of the dress.  The panel is made of offwhite fabric and the laceing is half as wide as it should be.  So more sewing.  FDIL had the nerve to call me yesterday and ask if I would be able to alter her brother's suit.  Told her I would only hem it...period.

    Want to sew for fun about now.

    Meece, that's just not fair!!! I would have told FDIL that you don't do alterations!!!!! I have had to tell a number of people that. They think just because we have a sewing machine that we magically can alter things!!! When we hem, we don't even USE the machine!! You are doing so much sewing already it's just asking too much. I hope they take it to a dry cleaner or something and leave you alone....want me to say anything??? On Facebook????

    Sheila, your work is LOVELEY!!!! Love the chick finally getting out of the last egg...ehhehehehehee. How did you get such even writing on the poem? Did you print it off?? And those angels!! I know I've seen them a couple of years ago, but that picture size is perfect to show the detail! How do you stiffen them so well????

    Thanks Barbe, my sister in law did the writing for me on muslin and I think she used a pigma pen to write it. She ironed freezer paper on the back to stablize the fabric, I think she had lines drawn on the paper that she could see through and used those lines to keep her writing straight.

    To stiffen the angels or the snowflakes, you can use a 50/50 white school glue/water solution but I have gotten better results with a product called 'stiffy' from plaid which is almost like the 50/50 glue/water I tried before but it does work better. I tell people who get the angels/snowflakes, to store them out of the light and reduce the humidity around them to prevent them from getting soft.

    Meece, I would have said no to even hemming the suit. I also would give the girls a drop dead deadline for final fittings or you might be last on their list of errands. You will have other things you need or want to do as the date approaches. You are so right, you want to sew for fun again. This was a big project, hah, like yiu don't know it!  

    I have a friend who will not knit for pay, only for love. I understand her well. I have said no to doing my SIL wedding dress and slip covers for my other SIL 6 cushion hide a bed sofa!  Life is too short.

    Well, I am not getting paid for this, so I suppose it is out of Love.  No, I know it is out of love.  FDIL told me one of the girls would be here on Saturday, so I told her to make it Sunday.  DH says he's taking me dress shopping Saturday.  We will also get his suit, and perhaps DS2's.  They finally asked DS1 if Patch could be a ringbearer as he is walking well now.  We will look for some sort of cute outfit for him.  No sewing on Saturday.  I will not be sewing men's suits or toddler suits.

    Barbe, FDIL knows I do alterations.  At this point I have at least 8 items in the sewingroom closet that belong to her and are awaiting alterations.  She is a bargain shopper and gets great deals, then brings them to me to make them fit best.  She, will bring me things she has found in my size as "pay".

    I am looking forward to my visit with Patch as he will be arriving in 8 days.  He and his mommy are coming out a week before the wedding.  Although she is pregnant, I plan to use her help extensively to ready our home for the rehearsal dinner and all the company who are going to be stopping by.

    Sheila, how do you shape them with their gowns spread and their hands up, though. Wouldn't the stiffy take time to work? Do you prop them up with toothpicks?

    Meece, you will be SO glad when you are dancing at this wedding!!! Anyone not in on time to get their dress hemmed gets a raw edge and that's it! It would stand up for a night, wouldn't it?

    I use styrofoam cones sitting on a syrofoam board to form of the skirts and pin the points down T-pins to stretch them out.  The sleeves/wings pretty much stand on their own, but I did keep going back and pulling the points out and shaping them for about an hour to make sure that they didn't droop.  I may on the next ones try using the pins into the cone to hold the wings up. I keep the angels on the cones for at least 8 hours for the outside to harden, then I pull them off the cone and let them stand alone for the inside to dry. I pin the snowflakes out on the board with paper bulls-eyes under the plastic wrap so the points are all evenly spaced out and the same length and leave them on the board for 8 to 12 hours. I may unpin them and flip them over part way through the drying time. Then I use 6 inch lengths of 8 lb fishing line to create loops to hang them on so they look like they are floating in the tree.

    Here is one photo of a snowflake I made. I did put clear glitter on this one to make it sparkle. I have 4 or 5 booklets with snowflake directions ranging in size from 1 inch to 12 inches. I like making the snowflakes because I can finish crocheting one 30 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on the pattern. instant gratification.

    Here is another one.

    I am on vacation this week and the internet connection at the resort is terrible. The wi-fi only works in the bedroom and even then, it drops. I have plugged straight into the network port and I only have 3 bars. I tried posting other photos the other day and lost the post.
