Perspective
Exactly 7 years ago, my birthday weekend. I was in the thick of it.
I had to move by myself to Florida for Tx.Chemo had transformed me into " Uncle Fester" I had sores in my throat, bloody nose.Alone, sick, awful awful time. It actually even hurt to take a shower.
to put the icy on the cake the 3rd hurricaine was hitting the hovel that I was staying in. Howling winds, shingles off the roof, massive leaks, lost 2 windows. no water, noelectric,no phone you name it for 3 weeks. Stores had no generators, no food. Even as gas stations could not pump gas (I didn't have a car there though) I was soley dependent and desperate. All I could do was cry like a baby.
It is now exactly 7 yrs later, birthday weekend coming up and another hurricaine is heading for me.
The difference is I am home, I am well. I am with my DH , my pup, and my kitty I am safe. I am blessed and I am so Happy to be another year older!
I wish you all for a safe through this treatment time. You will get through it and it will become a memory.

You are one of my " silent" heros, even if we never met, being far away, I feel like I knowing you for a long time.
I dont post that often anymore, too busy living well, but I do get that "hurricane" feeling understanding it very well. My one was inside of me almost 4 years ago, but since then, I love each birthday.
I wish you for your birthday only two things.
Health and happiness,.........the rest you can buy.

Linda - I needed to read a post like yours today! I have been having a VERY hard time with my perspectives lately, and needed to back up & look at my big picture too. I will hit 7 years next April, and am also happy for every birthday that goes by. It's good to know you are out there...all my best to you - and, as my English mother says "many happy returns of the day!"
