Ovarian Cancer after BC Anyone?

Options

I am looking for others who were afraid of ovarian cancer but ended up with happy, benign news.  I have been in chemopause since November, 2010.  My onc. said my blood work showed I am in complete menopause and I have been on Femara for about a year.  For the last couple of months, I have thought I have a UTI but have been to the doctor a couple of times and my urine has been clean.  Then, I started having pain on my side.  I had an ultrasound last week which showed my right ovary was enlarged at 5.5 cm, my left ovary was larger than last year but still within normal limits and my uterus is enlarged.  The ultrasound was done by a gynecologist so a radiologist did not read it and give an indepth medical description.  The ultrasound tech put at the bottom "a fair amount of free fluid in the PCDS".  My CA125 levels this year started at 5 and have gone up each time until they are now at 21, which is still in the normal range.  My CA 15-3 has also gone up each time from 8 to 26, which is also in the normal range.  Based on my bloodwork the gynecologist said "you do NOT have cancer" but we need to go ahead and schedule you for a hysterectomy.  My GYN said that I don't need a GYN oncologist but I didn't feel comfortable with that.  I am scheduled to go to Nashville to have both ovaries, my uterus and cervix removed by a GYN onc on November 9.

Finally, I had ILC and am BRCA2+.  Does anyone out there have a similar story with a happy ending to share?  If I have to worry about this for two more weeks without any good news I am going to drive myself (and my poor husband) crazy!

I appreciate anything you have to share.

Susan

I had a twenty pound mucinous borderline ovarian tumor removed just a few months before all the breast cancer testing started. My CA125 was 800 something & I had large volume ascites. It is highly unlikely to return & my cancer markers have returned to normal & no more ascites. I just found out tonight that I am negative for Brac & Lynch Syndrome genes. Now if my LCIS will just stay that way...
