INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

Hope your big D gone again. I think drug free is highly overrated.
-
I really laugh so hard now about all these drugs I never took them before all this, I have so many all around me--My one girlfriend calls my space my island cuz all I have to get u for is the bathroom, well we all know about that now and my bedroom is right across from the bathroom so I have a better chance of making it--but the odds are still me not making it. hahaha
-
Sas r u up? bgirl can I ask something if u'r up for a while. or a little bit it's not long
-
oh how our world has shrunk , no wonder we want to hermit.
who knew how our priorites have changed. I am just grateful I can type with 10 fingers as it lets me do it in the dark.
-
ask away
-
I don't understand I always typed without looking and 10 fingers, I use 2 now I still know where the keys are but I o dyslexic too all over again that confuses me why does this happen. my brain is burnt out and what is u'r first name>
-
Oh I see it now Jane--a name I can remember like Jack and Jane--no that was Jill--wait Dick and Jane OK i ot it.
-
I have an old phone - uses T9 not full keyboard. Unfortunately this presumes the ability to spell. can't put message together when you keep making mistakes. My brain wants its estrogen back. Jane
-
Ok here's my question---I'm going to see 2 of my girlfriends from when we were little and for different reason we lot touch about 10 yrs ago--not in anger just life of moving well everyone is back now but one of them has cancer--my other girlfriend told me she doesn't want to talk about it when we're together and I want to tell her about this site--I think it's great--i don't fear cancer but I like to read side effects so i don't feel totally alone and of course I think I've made some wonderful internet friends who are really nice (u included) and it's a release too, So If I can't talk about it how am I going to talk about this. I respect her feelings altho i don't agree talking (to me) is great therapy--what do u thingk?
-
Sas if u'r around u too.
-
Jane I talked to Sas on the phone the other nite--OMG is she knowledgeable and so so nice just darling and so caring. wow It was a surprise to talk but It was so wonderful.
-
Maybe she just isn't ready. Denial seems to be a way of coping for some. My dad would never admit he had cancer to anyone even though he was dying this summer.
I think it is hard not to talk about it. Elephant in the Room. Doesn't have to be centre of conversation. Maybe you could give her a note or card with the info for this site. Along with an offer to listen when she is ready.
PS - I have enjoyed talking to you and sharing this journey.
-
I have seen SAS on this board in several places, always seems to have a calm, sensible outlook. Stay off a lot of the threads. Don't like the ones where people try to stir things up or shoot others down. Will comment on an active topics if I feel I can offer relevant info. That is why I am glad to have found the hermits.
-
Thanks Jane--I know my mom didn't talk about it either--This is not a subject I talk about when I'm out unless someone brings it up remember my cousin, sister and I are in it together too and we don't talk about it, unless we need to. So my life isn't cancer but here yea we all understand everything about what we're going thru and I think that helps all of us too. And altho everyone is so much younger than I am I learn and don't feel like an old lady here. Never act like one but look are a different story. LOL
-
See I didn't honestly think about that she can't talk about it--but that could be the reason cuz we always told each other everythin in our lives. Good Point.

to order. They're the best!" width="320" height="331" /> I love this LOL
-
think sometimes we just need to vent. A lot of our problems can't be solved and some days we are just frustrated by how our lives are changed (doesn't mean we are not grateful for them). Only 20% of BC is in women under 50, so I guess there are a lot your age, but why does anyone have to `act their age` - whatever that means. Sounds boring.
-
It is boring--Now i embarrass my kids--they've got it coming hahaha--Oh Jane I took some meds now I getting tired. Yay so I'm going to try to sleep--probably an hour or so. Then all day I'm tired and I wonder why??? oh how stupid this circle is---goodnite my sweetheart and thanks for the insight--Talk to u later--opps I'm havin a hot flash hahahahaha
-
Too cute! Maybe should put a couple of relevant cartoons in with that note for friend. Not all doom and gloom here.
Probably should head to bed as hubby will be up in half and hour and it bothers him if I am not there. Keeps him guessing about how little sleep I am actually getting some nights.
-
Ok Jane===MEN they are so funny. ite
-
Cami here
-
Barely I was getting tired Jane and i were talking I was yelling Sas but u didn' hear me. LOL
I asked how u'r sister was doing
-
Cami--let her lead where she wants too go, but she already said she didn't want to talk about it. ironically, she'll likely bring it up and if you respond ---she may say "I already told you I don't want to talk about it". So, listen allot. Be careful , your almost in asituation no matter what you say you are screwed. But oh well --go with the flow.
Cami we had so much fun on the phone --looking forward to the next chat----thanks for the kind words. Listening to the blues. Whopppe sdssdioofggjrhehdduujrnrfikfiifjfjfjfjjvffdff- the music has me swinging at the computer @5;45 am. HMMMM should learn to behave.
-
Cami sister is stable , but it's going to be a long haul. Shithead did it to herself.
-
Don't ehave--that's what makes u-u and it's good.
Sas my eye are closing so I'm going to close them
And yep I loved talking to u--Now u'r really real LOL
-
Hey jane-Bgirl nice to meet you----reading backwards. Ya'll are talking about chemo/anesthesia/benzo/PTSD brain---yes we are screwed-----so let's pretend----We're normal---what a hoot.----it all frigging sucks. so, let's make it up as we go along. Whats nice here is I've never seen a fight or disagreement. AVOID at all effort those that cause fights or that are mean----ain't worth a brain cell of thought. We can't spare our brain cells. Besides the only rule on this thread is to play nice. I made up that rule. Good rule.
-
I hate it when the page turns over--people think your gone and here I sit by myself with the page turned---talking to my self again----but I used to do it, then I'd go duh the page turned.
-
Cami we are not old--we're young , our parents were old. We're chicks, we just have to find some roosters able to keep up. When MK and I were on a cruise several weeks ago---25- to 31 y/o's could not keep up dancing with me. It'd be fun to tell you why one couldn't get back on the dance floor, but this is an open forum.
We had a great time with them, assumed all people were like that--NOT, learned a lesson the last night. Plopped on a couch asked a group if I could party with them. This chick grabs me and kisses me very forcefully. DUH they were a group of gays and lesbians. Have no problem with either, except an intrusion into my space and lips without permission. YECK! Very wierd experience. Almost a "clockwork orange" experience.
My biggest problem is giving up on the day, not that I worry tomorrow won't happen, but if the day is good and this one was-----hate to see it go. Then it starts to get light and I have to give into the realty--it's gone. Must take some care for the next one a coming. But with such great music playing, it's hard. So, how to make it last. Sure would like to see some of the Southlanders pop in.
Chrissy yoo hoo you there?
Forgot they visited each other--Chrissy and Alyson how was the visit?

Please, if anyone hasn't heard of the Frankenstorm that is going to hit the northeast corridor, watch your weather. This is going to be very serious. Alert any that you think may not know. If you are in a flood zone area prepare to evacuate asap. at the direction of your Emergency Management Commanders. You may want to get out of area even if you are not told to evacuate, if so do it soon. You don't want to be trapped on highways the way people were with Katrina b/c they waited too long. Storm at latest viewing is to affect as far west as Ohio, but the brunt will be more coastal and into New Jersey
If evacuating take enough canned food that doesn't need to be cooked and can be eaten from a can. Utensils and CAN OPENER. Water for at least three days. Boots , winter clothing, Underwear for 1-2 weeks and clothing for a week, blankets, important papers, important pictures. Can use laudry baskets to pack stuff into--easy to carry and stack in vehicle, easy to retrieve stuff b/c it's visible through the sides. Take toilet paper. Flashlights and batteries. Tap lights. Garbage bags, Cash and credit cards, insurance info for vehichle and house. Cell phones and chargers. Phone and address book. Notify someone you are evacuating and where you intend to go. Count the kids and animals at every stop.
There likely is allot of activity with cleaning out grocery/hardware stores already for those that are going to "ride" it out. But if you are evacuating pack what you can and get moving, the farther from the storm path the easier it will be to buy stuff.
A piece of property isn't worth your life. This storm is being compared to the Perfect Storm of 1991.
