Products for Uneven Post-reconstruction breasts

Options

I had my mastectomy six years ago and now that I am not as worried about making it through treatment and managing life on tamoxifen, I have noticed that my breasts are very uneven.  I only had my left breast removed and have an implant on that side, on the other side I had a reduction and for a while they seemed pretty even but now they are not.  I am looking for a brick and mortar store where I can by some kind of silicone product to even things out.  I live in Camden County, NJ.  Does any one know of such a store?

Walmart and perhaps Target have small silicone enhancers that might work for you. Two for $15 when I saw them. A few years ago.

There are great products specifically designed for this purpose.  I'd suggest going to a small store that specializes in mastectomy products or a bra store like Lady Grace that specializes in fitting and also sells mast. products.  I just did this myself and am very pleased with the service and products I bought, most was covered by insurance.  Nordstrom has this service as well and I believe they handle the insurance claims as does Lady Grace.

Paula, you might get more response if you post over in the reconstruction forum. This forum is for women that haven't had reconstruction.

Actually, Paula, since you're asking about a silicone form to balance things out for you, I think you have come to the right place, since a number of us on this forum have had quite a lot of experience with silicone forms. Here's an example of the kind of balancers you might find helpful: http://www.amoena.com/us/Products/partials/Balance/.

I agree with glostagirl that you might get the best help from a lingerie store that carries mastectomy products. I googled mastectomy products plus Camden, NJ and came up with a couple of possibilities not too far from Camden--The Profile Shop, which has stores in Bensalem, PA and Southampton, PA; and also Yellow Daffodils Wig Salon & Post Mastectomy Boutique, which is a little further away in West Chester, PA.

As glostagirl also mentioned, Nordstrom has a good reputation for working with women who need breast forms. They carry exclusively the Amoena line (the ones I linked you to above).

With all these stores, I'd suggest calling first to make sure they have the type of balancer form that you need. You can also shop online for these forms, although I think trying them on in person would be a better idea for you.
