I am home from my procedure. The PS took some saline out from the expander and cut around were the breast would't heal. He sewed me up. I don't have any drains. I;m kinda loppy from all the drugs.

Oh Veggy...happy healing sweetheart! Enjoy your loopiness!

Rider...its with all my sincerity that you will see yourself just as magnificently with a shiny nugget. You'll find so much joy when its this time next year and you're having fun with your hair! You might surprise yourself and see how powerful you are without it....people are WAY friendlier at the grocery store! LOL

    Granny....you're just a peach.:)

I had my hair cut really short just before it all fell out. I did not like how I looked when the last pieces wwere falling out and found I was much more pleased when it was all gone. I also slept in a  cap made out of fabric like a baby's gown would be, really soft. My head got cold and I didn't want my husband looking at me asleep with a bald head.   Not rational but that is how I felt.

Ebay is a good place to get old very nice silk scarves.

Another BCOer sent me her head covers. I passed it on to another new BCO'er a month ago. Maybe it is something others might like to do? In both cases we exchanged adresses through IM.

    Hugs Ginger

The you are on your way to bed now Veggy.

Fuzzy and all who aare talking about the hair loss, I poopped in last night to read and saaw the pics and the comments, I didn't know how I fit in or what to say so I quietly left.  But now I know because you have all been so honest.  If I faced hair loss I would cover my mirror and wear hats and a towel too.  I read what you all share and try to understand, and I know that is what I would do too.  I can only relate because of the surgery and I have a maimed breast that I hide from Hubby. I would hide my head too.

Sassy - I know wwhat you mean about the old time dress, the unbleached cotton wedding dress and halters.  I was drolling over those when I was young.  Hubby and I were married less than three weeks after we met.  In parents wild cherry tree grove by the garden.  Cherry pie from parent's orchard, ice cream.  Kindred spirit.  Namaste.

LoveEssa....oh yes honey....you most definitely fit in. We've all lost pieces.

SAS...the dress has me meeeezmorized.....my head went straight to my aunt's house when I was little. I'm not sure why it did, but it did. Thank you for that.

rider - doesn't sound odd at all!  I would have done the same except I have three huge mirrors in my bathroom so that would have just been too much work.  My hubby NEVER saw me bald either! I know it's totally vain and bald is beautiful and all that, but it was just toooooo much for me!  Hang in there today!  My heart is breaking just a little for you today ...

Veggy - glad the procedure is behind you!  Now let's get to healing!

Fuzzy said it perfectly - "we've all lost pieces" - we all felt the fear, shame and eventually the strength from it!

I'm awake even if its for a little while. The pain isn' too bad. I'm keeping on time with the meds. I have to think of something for a quick breakfast.

I never got myself a nighttime cap last time. I just wrapped the blankets around my head to keep it warm. I did keep all my scarves but never learned to do any fancy wrapping. This time I found out that youtube shows you how.

I'm almost ready to take my first morning nap.

    Hugs!

Crog....missed you....I hope things are looking up?

Veggy...did you go to the ACS Look Good, Feel Better class? They can show you how to fuss With scarves. They can be pretty cool....its all in getting it tied then just fussing withem.

Build a Boob is feeling a little better. Tough to sleep or do anything...kinda getting me aggravated.

My mom called me a few minutes ago....her INR is 5.8. Over many years we've had many troubles with that...its an international way to measure how well your blood coagulates. 0=clotted, 6=will not clot & bleeding out is highly possible. I'm kinda freaking out.

I took the Look Good Feel Good class the last time I had cancer. Not much was said about scarves. I plan on attending again whenever I get the chemo.

Keep us updated on your mom. Sending her hugs too.

Veggy, I was planning on getting a hot pink wig from a costume shop if I needed chemo. I didn't put it to the test, however, so who knows what I would really have done.

Hugs to all that need them.

    Crog :0)

Fuzzy, Allot was written about family groups/ tirbal in the 90's at the height of the "Friends" program. The jist of it was that as social human beings, people will seek out others of common need of having a pseudo family. That within the Friends group.  Each takes on a role. The group is there for love , support, discipline (lol's) Fun and laughs, protection of group members when someone or something threatens a memeber. If you look at a few Freiends episode and think of what role each character plays, it makes sense why it was so successful. We all could see someone there that we could  identified with. I think I'm part Monica, part Pheobe,  OCD flower child LOL. An Obessive compulisive flower child LOL's Wow that is a contridiction in terms. Must get MH doc to comment on that one. Must admit I could use a little more OCD thes days. Too often filp to Scarlett O'hara's line in GWTW---"That it will wait till tommorrow" Paraphrase.-----Fuzzy thanks about the dress, I wish, I was good at pics.

Essa, Yes kindred spirits. Bet some that weren't close to us both  at the time, probably didn't get- the why of what we did--short notice, outside. An old type wedding that was common in a long ago previous time without all the pagentry.  Under the trees with birds singing, blue skies and drifting clouds, air that kissed our skin. More common today. Time cycles. Namaste

Rider sweetie , by today your hair is off. Whatever makes you comfortable do it.

Dunes--My sx's were done in '09, but even today when I do too much work with my arms, the swelling occurs in both pits, Left arm and left boob where 3 lymphs node removed. Think---the other day you did some major work in renovating. It was primarily arm work. Give yourself time until the swelling is gone before taking on anothe project. Then limit the time. I found that wearing a sports bra either during or after "working" very much helped. This may have to be done for several days to a week. I'd also, change the size of the sports bra. XG which was tighter on the first couple days. When that began to feel uncomfortable, I'd switch to XXG. THe XXG  was just enough release of tightness, that I began  another relief phase again. It's all situational, as to what to wear and when to remove sports bra. Use pain as your guide. If it makes it worse stop doing it, if it makes it better do it until your body tells you to change. Another word about the sports bras. If it the went too high up in the axcilla, it increased my pain. My conclusion was that it applied pressure right over the lymph drainage site and or incision or internal suture area. Change immediately if that's what you think is happening b/c it's defeating the purpose. good luck sweetie. Hope somthing works. But dollars to donuts (what does this phrase mean?)--you could trace the beginning pain from that work day.

Nancy, no more poop throwing, Schatzi peed my bed when I when on the criuse. Heard a animal program one time that said our indoor animals will do such things b/c they are angry with us. On this show, this was a response to  a woman that said her cat peed in every single pair of shoes when she left her for a few days. UGH

SkecialK/Flower will be at Moffit on Oct 29th for 10 am appt with the neurosurgeon. Plans not solidified. Hope we can get together

GC and Lauren come out come out wherever you are?

TerasainTuscon & frankh--last login was August 20th as Nancy said, her last post was july 12th here in the RR. I PM'd mods to ask them to email her and FrankH, They both went MIA at the same time. Mods ,at the time, said it was too soon to email. If each of you ask the mods to email them, then may be working in numbers of requests will help.  Frankh last posted August 6th. His last login was Sept 7th with no post. I tracked frankh's post from the beginning and found his parrish outside of Belfast b /c he dropped the priest name in one post. Have written twice to priest requesting him to contact Frank. Telling him it wouldn't breach his privacy to ask him or a family member to post. That I did not expext apost back---- no response.

PTd how's it going with the hearing? I've had to reset my tinnitus multiple times, Just love having something that allows for reset. So very cool when it gets noicy.

Veggy-Hold on, we are all with you lovey

Hello all my lovely Fuzzy Family,

You have no idea how soothing I have found all your pictures, so here is one to cheer:

I have no idea what kind of dog this is or from where he comes from, his picture was posted with a whole bunch of other doggie photos.  I have more to write, but suffice to say it's been hell for two weeks, trying to get used to my new medcines, which work very well.  Also, one more bit of amazingly great news:  My CT scan showed No Evidence of Disease NED.  Bless all of you with your struggles.  I will come back in a few days and comment on many things I want so much to contribute to.  Love truly and for always, and Fuzzy, my dearest one, your eyes are so ridiculously beautiful that I didn't pay much attention to your baldy head.  GG

Sheesh, Found tinnutis thingy on Pg 100 --lots of scrolling. We are a prolific family--That goes back to only Aug 17th. The post I was looking for had to do with hearing loss when PTd lost hers in one hear.

Want to put down this reference to a childs--6 y/o's response to being different. She has written a book to help other children with differences, learn what to do on the first day of school. The title is "First Day Speech". This child was born with a genetic abnormality called "lobster claw". Her Mom has it too.The news showed this child getting up infront of the school assembly and speaking to the whole school and explaing her condition. Her reason for writing the book was that she had been either bullied or made fun of at school when she was younger. She' s in first grade if I heard it right. Other schools have asked her to come and speak. Amazing little girl. A writter, public speaker, and accomplished interviwee--calm and eloquent in front of the cameras. Made me wondered what we could learn from this child?

SAS - Thanks for missing me. Work keeping me really busy  Another 6 weeks and hopefully I am outta there! Should be doing online paperwork now. You have NO IDEA (yes shouting) how much it takes for Medicare paperwork these days. Takes me about an hour to write a straightforward pt assessment. Not to mention if they are due to be recertified (which I have 4 due Tuesday). Read here but not much time to contribute. Love and hugs from Texas.

    Nancy...where are ya sweetie?

Mama....you make me laugh! Like, you and me and veggy outta be making bad people regret messing with us...I dunno...sounds like a Michael Jackson video don't it?

My puppy pup is out like a light. Poor little Guy didn't feel good today.
