Hi there, I am also new to this website.

I was Triple Negative; BRAC 1.  I went through 12 weeks of Chemo and had my double mastectomy on Sept 25th.  At the time of surgery, I had tissue expanders put in.  Due to my decision of having the DIEP Reconstruction, my PS did not want to complete the DIEP reconstruction until they knew if I needed radiation (results dependent on lymph nodes) - therefore, had the tissue expanders put in.  I have to say they are not comfortable, but at age 34 I did not want to go without.

The surgery went well and as you, I was so scared!  But I just kept telling myself - I had no choice and had to get it done. 

I begin my 2nd round of chemo on Oct 19th - and not looking forward to it.  Once my Chemo is done, I will then begin my reconstruction. My initial decision was the DIEP, However, after having the double mastectomy - I am now thinking of having implants.  The recovery period is difficult, especially with a 1 1/2 & 3 1/2 Yr Old.

Yes,  I was diagnosed with triple negative secondary breast cancer on 20th August 2012 and started chemo on 27th August.  Had just had my third infusion of Taxotere and the body is coping well.  The lymph node in my neck has all but gone, and there has been some reduction in the tumour in my right breast. I am due to have a CT scan in mid November at which stage we shall be able to see if the tumours down the front of my chest, under my right arm, in my lungs and in my breast have also reduced.  Chemo knocks me around about a week after the infusion, but then I pick up slowly again and have a few days of feeling normal.  Still can't believe this is happening to me - mammograms all clear and only went to the doctors as I had a sore arm.  I am a fit 65 year old and plan to fight this with all I have, but I have yet to know anyone else with seondary triple negative breast cancer... anyone there?

I was diagnosed for tnbc on 10/4/12 and and had mastectomy on 1 breast and expender put in. Not very comfortable, but manageable. I am 40. still try to figure out chemo treatment plan - tc*4 or ac*4 followed by t*4?



Any input?
