None of that is true. This woman is a known liar. Check out all the other video's of her off to the right too. Rather sad she would use her own breast cancer , spread false hoods all in order to raise money.

kayb, Romney's pre-existing plan does not pertain to her. For her to use herself as an example is a lie. She is covered through the federal employee plan and should she leave office she can still be covered under this plan. The article states that only when Obama showed a drop in the polls did she use her own breast cancer to try to exploit the issue.
The majority of americans agree with the pre-existing condition problem within our present health care system. Should it fall into the states hands, I do believe pre-existing conditions will be handled to the liking of what the majority of this country believes in. I was born with a congenital heart defect. I always called it "healthy insurance" instead of health insurance. The only way we found to get around paying a higher premium was for my husband to join the union. We need reforms, not a government take over...IMO. Thats all I have to say without engaging in too much politics.

I haven't studied either plan, but I thought this one minute video clip that a friend sent me today was food for thought on the topic of healthcare. (And by the way, I am not a fan of FOX News. I try to intelligently listen to all sides and make my own decisions, which is why this thread, as well as the video, caught my attention.) Deanna

kayb, you can believe what you want in regards to Debbie Wasserman. Here is her add in the article below. Extremists ? I still believe she's a known liar and will say and do anything to keep her and Obama in office, even if it means exploiting her breast cancer.

IMO, it is already a government take over. Due to this government law, my insurance started making provisions to plan for the upcoming ACA. Lets see, things that were covered before at 100% are no longer . My prescriptions have went through the roof. I can't go to my regular eye doctor unless I wan't to pay for it. Thus, going to an eye doctor who just has you read the letters, screwed up my families prescription for eye glasses several times, and does no other testing than that. That led us back to our regular eye doctor at a cost we never had to pay before. Then there's the dental ....same exact thing. Oh, and unless you get an MRI ect. where they want you to go...you have to pay through the nose again. Due to all the "added" costs which never would have occured under our regular plan that changed because of ACA...we darn near went into bankruptcy from it all. But hey, luckily we were able to cash in my husbands annuity...aka..retirement plan.
I don't care to compare Obama/Romney's health care plans at the moment as I have no idea who is going to win. What should be looked into, more than anything is how this is going to affect the economy at this time. How are we going to be able to afford this as a country when this country really is broke? I'd sure like to know how America is going to handle the biggest tax hike ever. We can also look into how much money this country has spent on illegal immigration health care and what is going to happen with that situation with ACA.
This whole bill was written behind closed doors. Closed doors whose locks were changed to keep the republicans out. Who wrote this bill and why wasn't it on CSPAN as we were told it would be ..."transparent". Why are millions still going to go un-insured?

I hate to sound like a shill but before one could have an informed discussion about health care, I think one should first read Eric Topol, MD's book, The Creative Destruction of Medicine AND Otis Brawley, MD's book, How We Do Harm. These two physicians explain how medicine should "work." Neither candidate's proposals address the changes that need to occur. I find both men to be visionaries. The esteemed U.S. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynahan once said that if you want to change legislation, you should first study public policy for 30 years. These men together have more than 50 years of experience understanding the mechanics of medicine and have amazing ideas about what can be done to make healthcare affordable. Until either candidate addresses both physicians vision of healthcare, no one will benefit from either plan. And honestly, considering Obamacare is 2,500 pages long, how can anyone understand it during a political campaign season that is full of rhetoric?

No system that fails to recognize healthcare as a universal human right can begin to be adequate - even those that do have serious flaws.

kayb, so sorry you think the You Tube video's weren't factual. So sorry it was a right wing blog that showed exactly what Wasserman wrote. I guess it's o.k. for you to say I was using right wing scare mongering talking points but it's not o.k. to use a right wing blog to prove Wassermans use of "extremist" was used as a left wing scare mongering tactic.
My "union" insurance company told me why everything changed. I even asked if ACA didn't pass if I could get my money back. LOL!
I don't like Romney or Obama's plan. I agree with voraciousreader, and many doctors feel as though they should have been present behind those closed doors.
Being as you like the Heritage Foundation so much, numer 6 is the reason my health care plan changed. I mean, c'mon, do I seem like the type of person who would let an insurance company scam me? All in all kayb, we can agree that something needs to be done.

Thank you and have a nice day!

I'm so glad you don't agree with the Heritage Foundation after all. That means you must not agree with ACA then. Hiarious indeed kayb, on both fronts. LOL
Why yes, DWS is trying to squeeze more money out of dems. By using scare tactics and her own breast cancer to bloviate the issue by playing on people's sympathy, just when the polls weren't in her favor. Hmmm. Romney's plan has always been the same. And I'm no Romney fan either, but he'd be better than nothing right about now.
The union did this so they can cover the incoming costs of having to cover the kids longer than expected. I'm sure they're making a few bucks off it too, but if it weren't for this debacle, it would of never happened to begin with . You wanna know how I know? My insurance plan has ALWAYS been top notch for 25 years with slight increases in the deductable with no change in any coverage. Ever since they had to plan for the kids to be covered longer, everything changed. Yep! I'd have to say the governments new law has taken over my insurance coverage and turned it into garbage. Sure feels like a government take over on my end. I can hardly wait for the rest of it to start kicking in.

Please cite your source kayb.
We're in an Illinois union. Illinois unions alone have roughly one million members. Ours alone has 15-20 thousand. Can you explain how ACA will not place a burden on their resources? Tell us how extending the coverage 8 more years for 15-20 thousand members children would not increase the cost.
