cluster miagrains

I have been getting a seies of headaches over past weeks that my Doctor is diagnosing as cluster headaches, they appear on my left side of head and range between the temple and ear and eye, they are very dabilitating, i had to go into A/E one night as it felt like my left side of my head was  getting bashed in or crushed, it was like a 10 and a half out of ten/10 . they did B/tests and they were ok, but my GP or MD said that he would like a nuerologist to check  and eliminate any possible Brain mets. as even though the headaches are not as intense, they have not gone and that was three weeks ago, 27th sept i went to the ER at the hospital, we call in A/E in NZ. so i am yet to hear from him, my B/P at the GP was 162/102, not my usual, i am normally 130/70-75, in that range, i coulda been stressed, but ment to be getting it checked again this week to see if it was a pattern of things to come or just the one off thing. all i am really asking are there sufferers of these cluster headaches out there that could shed some light on how they got on with it.  thanks Heaps, Midnight

I suffered from terrible migraines for years, including cluster headaches.  Nobody knows why they happen although mine seem to be hormonal.  Once chemo killed my ovaries they got better. I still get a migraine now and then but nothing like I used to.

I'm wondering if maybe tamoxifen plays a roll in yours?  Maybe it's the estrogen blockage.

There are good medications out there for them now.  Ask for something in the Triptan family - I take imitrex (sumatriptan) which has worked wonders.  There are others in the same family that work well too.

    Good luck.
