Question: does anyone know where there might be a trial going on with IV Vit. C?

Thank you.

I don't, but I use it.  I've done 50g 3/week since dx in March, all through chemo.  I know lots of people who go to my naturopath who have said they noticed a huge improvement in how they felt after they started the vitamin C.  (I can't say the same because I started the IVAA before I started chemo, so I have no way to compare.)

Apparently the nurses at one of the cancer centres near me (not the one I went to) noticed a real difference between patients doing IVAA and those not.

I'd sure be interested in hearing about a study...

I'm not up on the trials, but here's a link to the clinical trials database.

FWIW, there have been other discussions here on IV Vit C before--maybe there's info on those threads? I can't remember how recent they are but you may have luck using the Search command.  FWIW, I'm not doing IV Vit C but I'm taking an extra Vit C pill each day. Unlike other vitamins and meds, any excess passes through you so the risk of SEs seem small. Hope this helps.

Sue & Peggy, thank you.  Yes, I've heard the same regarding positive results.  Unfortunately, insurance doesn't cover it and it adds up if doing out of pocket.  I doubt there's a trial because there's no $$ in it for the drug companies.  However, I'm looking ...

I did a google search and found this info on the Sloan-Kettering website.(below) There have been some trials in the past and it seems like there have been mixed results. (that happens sometimes). Maybe you can find current trials if you use the phrase "Ascorbic Acid."

FWIW, this page reminded me that the digestive system limits how much Vit C is absorbed by the body. That might be why we can take as many Vit C pills are we want and it passes through us. If it was me, I'd investigate any possible SEs from the IV Vit C. At a minimum I'd wonder if it stressed the liver.

    Good luck with this.
