How small can cellulitis be?
So I have this spot on my breast above my scar line. I called the MO last week after having it for a few days, its the size of a dime. It hasn't really grown but now there is a new small spot after using clometrizol (hoping it was a fungus). Can cellulitis be this small. My whole family is sick so its hard to say if the yuckiness I feel is associated with the spot. I didn't feel bad when I first saw the spot. Freaking out a little.

Mini Macs Mom, Cellulitis usually spreads. I think the best bet would be to have a doctor look at it.
Let us know how it goes.
-
It could spread somewhat slowly, as the new spot may indicate. Get thee to a medical facility!

I have an appt with the mo pa tomorrow morning. In the meantime I got a penicillin shot to the behind this morning for my throat I fiction. They sent a sample off to be cultures since I tested Neg for strep a.
-
So the clinic where you got the shot didn't look at the spots? Be sure to rest today (if you can!) and drink plenty of fluids.

I saw my PCP's PA today she did look at it and said that since its kind of silvery and shiney that its probably fungal, but this stupid infection thats going around town and through my family finally took me out.
Ugh, I hate all this unknown stuff. I guess this is just part of my new normal. The MO PA said they will look take pictures, maybe do a biopsy or refer me to a dermatologist depending on what it looks like so I am running with the fungal thing
its easier on my anxiety and will deal with it all tomorrow. THanks! Moral support is greatly appreciated!

Did you tell the PA that you tried clotrimazole? It could be that it needs longer therapy that what you attempted in order to heal.
Not all dermatologic lesions can be diagnosed with accuracy by sight so it's good the oncology office is following up. I'm a great believer in going to specialists when they are available!

Honestly, I don't like my PCPs PA but my PCP was unavailable all week ;S the hubs and I are considering changing. I really like the actual physician he is caring is and particular about figuring problems out. I tried to get in to see the mo last week, but they told me to just watch it for another week or soo. I am just so tired of seeing Drs.

Alright, my MO PA said she had never seen anything like it. In her 12 years in onc it didn't look like any kind of re-occurance. She brought in another MO, mine was out of the office, just to check and he said he didn't know what it was but it didn't look like a malignancy. I am off the first available Derm appt. They said a lot of times it can take up to a month to get in at the derms in town... Really? Anyway, she says it looks like a chemical burn, but other than the clotrimazole I haven't used anything new. We are really careful about the types/brands/chemicals we use anyway. I'll keep you posted
