SSDI STOPPING $$$ Benefits after 6yrs due to NED on PET Scans???
Hi, I did post this in Stage IV Forum but just want to cover the most Bases. I'm a BC Survivor for 17 Yrs total and stage 4 since 2005 with Bone Mets. I applied and have received the SSDI Benefits for myself and my 2 children until the age of 18 since June 2006 after the required waiting period. I had a Re-review this past month or so from State of CT and after many pages of papers for me and my md's, I received the GRIM News TODAY that they are STOPPING my $$$ Benefits with 2 months notice at the end of August 2012. I will go to the office tomorrow and get the Form SSA-789 to Appeal but I just dont get it!!! The Stress alone is Awful as I am currently getting chemo/Herceptin weekly since 2005 and moving forward. How can this happen??? I can't see how they can dismiss a patient in Active treatment??? Does anyone know a SS Disability Lawyer in CT (Fairfield CTY)???
Any HELP would be appreciated??? NED but not Dancing anymore!!! Pat

ill ask around for an attorney.... dosen't it suck to have to worry all over again and deal with the omg i have to find a job in this economy

Sorry, I haven't been on in a while. Been busy moving one daughter back to CT from PA an another Daughter back to college!!! I've been mia on this board as I'm still in limbo waiting for my SSDI reconsideration letter and trying not to let this latest "stress" kill me every day!!! I still have to wait from now till the end of October for an answer. If still a NO, I'll be a basket case and have to hire a lawyer and screw up what little money for the girls college $$$ we had put aside ( less than 1 yr each).

Great News!!! I just got my Reconsideration Letter from the Social Security Department at the USA Government stating "...after a review of my medical information, we have determined that you are still disabled" and therefore still entitled to Benefits under the SSDI Program. Hallelujah!!!
After 3.5 months of crazy worrying and anxiety, I can now relax and keep my SSDI Monthly Income and Medicare Benefits (when needed- since I'm still under my husband's Medical Insurance)!!! I had contacted my CT Senator Blumenthal's Office and was talking to an Assistant in Washington, DC over the last 2 weeks and had been awaiting a phone call Friday or early this week when I got my mail Saturday!!!
I hope this SSDI Termination Situation NEVER happens to a Stage IV patient EVER again!!!!
I've been doing the "Happy Dance" since Saturday when I opened this letter!!!Sorry for the Bolded Print as I copied and pasted and can't adjust it but that's ok since I'm just Soooo Happy I can just concentrate on Staying Healthy and start enjoying my Life again!!!

Oh this is great news! As you can imagine, many of us were concerned for you and your children. I hope that you are now able to breath a sigh of relief and get back to your life without this horrid stress.

Thanks Susan,
I am quite relieved and don't want this to happen to any more Stage IV's out there as we have enough stress in our lives with our disease and need the financial support of our Gov't resources to not worry about a roof over our heads or food for the family. It's the right thing to do!!!
