Hi, I was just diagnosed with TNBC T1 no node involvement ki-65 80-90 % Stage 3 tumor.  A well known cancer center recommends TC given 4 times at 3 week intervals.  It looks like most people are receiving AC  4 doses at 2- 3 week intervals followed by Taxil for 12 weeks or so.  Is anyone just doing the TC treatment and if so has there been reoccurance?  I am confused about which treatment to pursue.  Thanks so much for your feedback!

There is a thread called "Calling All TN's" -- I would suggest asking your questions there.  You will get a lot of good responses to your questions.

I received AC DD and am now going for my 2nd of 12 Taxol treatments tomorrow.  There are so many factors that enter into our treatment plans.  But, please go to the TN thread -- a lot of great ladies with more knowledge than I have.  ;-)

I think you mean you have "grade 3", not "stage 3".  TNBC is almost always grade 3.  You can't have T1 and stage 3, and they would not recommend TC for stage 3, which needs a more aggressive cocktail.

Usually stage 1 is recommended to have TC, which was the same for me.

Depending on other factors which are part of your pathology report, different chemos may be recommended by your onc.  Many onc still use Taxol after AC as a mop up, but I understand that MD Anderson is now doing taxol first, TAC instead of ACT.  But again, this depends on your individual situation.

Def check out the TN threads which address these issues and write your questions down next time you meet with your onc.

How is your treatment going?  Did you tolerate the AC well? How about taxol?

Thanks for that , yes it was a grade 3 tumor. DId you end up having TC after your other health issues were resolved?  I see your ki67 was quite high which means it is an aggressivey growing cancer-right?  Since mine was high too, I thought that was why they wanted to do a more aggressive treatment than the TC.

    what do you think?

TN always has a high Ki67 score - it is aggressive. But those with small tumours and node-negative are often given TC. You may want to look up Sugar77 and PM her. She is 3 years out but posts regularly on the Calling all TNs thread too.
