Utter exhaustion - anyone else feel this way?

Hi ladies. It has been 6 months since BMX for my second breast cancer. I am a teacher and back at school - fourth week in....and I just feel absolutely exhausted ALL the time - it's almost as if my cells just feel drained. Has anyone ever felt like this and had it turn out to be a recurrence or mets? My body just feels wrong, I don't really know how else to explain it. Am I just complaining for no reason?
Thanks,
Abbey

I'm sure your complaints are valid. I went back to a demanding administrative position from a faculty position at my university and it was a hard transition. Took a while to build up my stamina for the long hours. Maybe you should book an appointment with your GP, and take a couple of sick days for a long weekend to rest. Your body is still healing.

Hi Abbey
That is exactly how I feel. I am completely exhausted all the time!!! I finished my treatment December 2011 and started Tamoxifen right after. I am wondering if the Tamoxifen has anything to do with this. -
Hi Abbey, I dont have an answer for you I just wanted to give you a cyber hug. I am only 3 months out from my bmx and I just went back to work and I still cant make a full day. I feel exhausted from the time I get up to the time I go to bed. I just wanted you to know you are not alone. I take a ton of vitamins and supplements and drink tons of water and I think that helps. Good luck to you and if you feel like something is wrong call your doctor nd ask for some blood work. Good luck.

Thanks for the responses. I see my oncologist in a couple weeks, so I will for sure mention it to him. He always does bloodwork for me at each visit too. I've just never felt so run down and exhausted from work before.

I too am exhausted ALL the time! My treatment of Herceptin ended 12/2011 as well. I can sleep at the drop of a hat. I see my regular primary physician on 10/23 and I'm going to mention this to him (again). I did the same with my Oncologist and they brushed it off and told me to get more exercise. I think I just need more sound sleep so I'm going to ask for something to help me sleep better. I toss and turn all night. Please DO let us know what your Dr. says. Oh..my oncology "nurse" did mention that she thought I had a lot of the signs of Fibromyalgia - but I don't want to believe I have that. I don't know enough about it but all I have hard is it's an exclusional diagnosis which means, they can't figure out what's wrong (fatigue, body aches, etc) so we'll say you have Fibromyalgia. Anyhoo, good luck and stay strong and get some rest~!
