I do not know if this is completely stupid or not but here goes.

If TN is more like ovarain cancer should we basal cell tn's be talking to our docs about removing our ovaries?  Does it make our risk of ovarian cancer go up even if we are BRCA negative?  Has anyone had this discussion with their Doc yet?  Just wondering if I should persue this or not.

Yup, Mags I have been wondering the same thing. I intend to raise it with my onc but won't see her until next July. I suspect she will say, this is an area that needs more research -- too early to jump the gun.  More to the point, I wonder if we should be asking to have our tissue tested for basal cell, as that is the type of TN all this refers to.

No--my understanding is that it is not causal toward ovarian cancer.  The comparison is of interesting biological merit in terms of research into tnbc because they are noting a biological, histopathological similarity between the two cell types in that ovarian cancer is basal in nature as is most tnbc.
