cancer again....f++k
hi lovelies,
i have followed these boards for 2 years since my diagnosis and followed the "but doctor i hate pink blog" with sorrow and joy. i have never posted but just read people's stories.
the last 10 days have been a roller coaster for us as i have recently been diagnosed with a cancer in my gallbladder. the doctors arent sure if it is metastatic her2 positive breast cancer, or a brand new unrelated cancer thing. either way, my anxiety is running at a 9 out of 10 .....i wanted to ask for some help and support from you girls who have faced something simialir.....how do you deal with the anxiety and anger and fear.....does it decrease.....i am so scared and i am not ready to face this.....but i dont have a choice.
surgery will be soon...in the next 10 days and will involve removal of the gallbladder; lymph nodes; and a portion of the liver and liekly chemo. 1 week in hospital and then 8-10 recovery at home.
any support would be great.

Hi Nicola,
I am so sorry you are faced with this again. I can understand how scary this is for you. I'm glad your surgery is soon so you will know for sure what's going on. I hope the cancer can be completely removed with surgery.
Please stay close to us and keep posting. We're here for you.

Nicola,
It will get easier, it does take time. Everything you are feeling is normal. It sucks to have to deal with it again, but there is so much hope and so many inspirational stories of survival! I was just diagnosed with mets in March and I have come a long way thanks to support on this board, and, well, Ativan too. Don't hesitate to ask the doctors for a prescription. It saved me in the beginning. I don't use it much any more. -
Nicola I am so sorry you are going through this my heart goes out to you. Stay strong and know that we are all here to support you in any way that you need. Can I ask - did you have any symptoms you were having that got you this most recent diagnosis? Prayers coming your way.

morning sandra......thanks for the prayers......i had no symptoms....i was doing three spin classes a week and 1 TRX class and working full time. i had a check up with my surgeon mi september and he noticed some tenderness below my rib cage and sent my for scans.
he thought it was a gall stone.....

Hi Nicola, am very sorry for what you are going thru. never realised you could get cancer of the gall bladder. but i suppose it can go anywhere, you hear gall stones and polyups etc, but not heard of cancer there. I really pray they will get it all by surgery. glad you dont have to wait too long tho for the surery, thinking of you. gentle hugs

Nicola, you can join our double dx club. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer in Jan 2009 and discovered I had Stage 3 kidney cancer last Feb (2012). I had had no symptoms, but when I had a spinal MRI because of back problems, they found I had a large mass on my kidney. My oncologist says it's a second primary, not BC recurrence.
Within a month they removed my kidney (thank goodness I had 2) and found it hadn't gone outside the kidney. Nephrectomy was the only treatment. No chemo and no radiation because it hadn't metasticized.
It knocks you for a loop second time around, doesn't it? Xanex helped on the hard days and I saw a therapist for awhile due to depression from 2nd diagnosis plus family problems. I'm better now, especially after 2 clean scans. PM me if you'd like as there's not many of us 2 primary dx folks.
You'll get through this!

First time Ive posted on this thread I believe, But I know exactly where your coming from. Five weeks ago I went in for a check-up and found I had mets to the liver and possibly chestwall and lung- scared the hell out of me. Then last weds. I noticed a bright red ring around my other breast, could be ibc. Not sure about that yet sur. got me on an antibiotic, if that doesnt help they will do a biopsy weds. Sometimes the fear is overwelming isnt it? Makes it hard to breath or concentrate on anything. Anyway my prayers go out to anyone who needs them-as Im sure we all do-Best wishes to you all.
