I don't know if this is a rad issue, but I have been SO emotional the past couple of days. Everything sets me off into tears...I'm tired, trying to adjust to being back at work, juggling kids and everything as well. Today as I went into the hospital where I do rads, there was a little boy, clearly in treatment for cancer (it's a cancer hospital), with his parents, and they looked so glum, and my heart just broke for them. It's hard enough going through all this, then imagine being a child and going through all this. Imagine being that child's parents, how helpless they must feel, and angry. Just so sad.

And when people are nice to me I lose it. And today the lady at the place I get my coffee near work asked if I'd gotten my hair cut . I could barely speak. I just gurgled "cancer" and left it at that. Odd, to feel so on top of it most of te time and then crumble at everything...

KCB; yesterday i had a meltdown..i was a mess...feeling totally inadequate at everything i said or did...everyone at work was helping me to do my job so much that i was afraid that i would lose it(the job)and i am exhausted...tho today was better.....

i think it is natural for us to have these days-after all...look at what we have gone through....here's a big hug from Ohio...gosh i just looked at your dx- almost identical to mine!!!!

a few years back, my boss' daughter had cancer-she was 11 when she passed....it was heart wrenching to watch him at work most days.....

Lumpynme: wow, yes our dx ARE almost identical! Weird... Thanks for sharing about being emotional. It's a strange place to be, especially when everyone around you is cheering that you're done (almost) treatment and can get on with things. Oh well, I guess the ride isn't over yet....

Congrats to Raelan.  Way to go girl, you did it!  Stay healthy, be well,  smile and be happy.

Today's my last rad!   It's a weird feeling.  7 weeks went by quickly, but I think the personal tragedy we experienced in July has been such a diversion that I've been in a fog and functioned on automatic pilot!

In any event, it's been a 9 month journey from diagnosis to the last rad.  Thank God it's over.   Is it ever really over???

Saw my MO yesterday.  Wanted to start me on Arimidex. Since I'm considered triple negative by many of my doctors (I'm ER-only 1-4PR+,HER2-) I did my research and could find no real benefit to taking this pill everyday for 5 years.  After much discussion, she agreed with me.  So essentially,I'M DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yipee.

Hugs to all. Your journey will soon come to an end too.  Good luck!

    Diane

Congrats to those of you who are done, done, done! I start rads sometime the week of 10/15. Should be done by Thanksgiving, and then I'll be done, done, done too. Well, except for Tamoxifen.

2 mos on Femara and hubby noted fuzzy "longer than before" white facial hair on my face. You see it really good in the right light and angle. I am not happy I will have to wax my face. Ugh!! Ugh!! Double Ugh.

stacie-how was it determined to take femara as opposed to tamoxifen? my MO wants me on fem also....i am not so sure due to the calcium issue-since i had gastric bypass surgery i don't absorb calcium normally and don't want to risk osteo anymore than necessary! i meet with MO in a few weeks to start whatever regimen i go on and want to have info to arm myself--i have read all of the stuff on this site and am looking outside for more....

    Lumpynme,

Femara is for post menopausal and Tamox for premenopausal women.

Stacie:  I have always had fuzzies on my face.  Don't know if it's any longer, but those chin hairs sure don't like it when I pluck them, because the next day, they are back with a vengeance!

    Summer51:  Congrats!

Indigo-good luck to you.  I hope your experience with rads will be as good as mine or even better.  I was nervous waiting for treatments to begin, but for me it was a breeze compared to chemo.

Hang in there, turkey day will be here before you know it.  One more thing to be thankful for!

One more day for me and I'm done too. It seems to have gone by so fast, now that it's almost over. I have to go back in a month for a final radiation check up and that's it!

My skin is not so bad. It's gotten a bit itchy and the doctor suggested I use over-the-counter hydrocordizone which I am doing. She also said I could stop using Aquafor after tomorrow and switch to something less heavy as long as it didn't have fragrance in it.

Have any of you had any trouble with nausea? I am 17 of 33 treatments done. Felt it very mildly the last few days and somewhat worse this morning.
