-
I can make it any time in November!

-
PLEASE POST 2 CHOICES FROM DATES BELOW:
NOV 24
NOV 25
DEC 1
DEC 2
DEC 8
DEC 9
Let's see if we can get together before Christmas! (lol I finally came back!)
Any ideas where we should meet?
-
My 2 picks - Dec 2 and Dec 9.
First chemo on Dec 3rd. Maybe pick location based on who can come and try to find someplace at least somewhat central?
-
Woohoo Found it..I am good anytime off weekends.. How does Olive Garden in Langley sound.. Central for us in the Valley to Vancouver.. I have room for 4 to spend the night if anyone are coming from out of town
-
Missed this thread completely until now. Dec. 2, busy Dec. 9. My next chemo is Nov. 27. Guessing we should post this on Canadian thread too for anyone not on Br. Col. one?
Adagio, is she on the Br. Col. thread? She starts chemo tomorrow in Vancouver. Will look and see but now that I think of it she is on the chemo Nov. thread.
I agree with Sneaky we should see who and where then.
-
I would love to join you, but have a rads consult on Dec 3rd, will try and make it down to the next get together. The Olive Garden sounds delicious! Take lots of pictures!
-
I'd be interested in joining in too if the plan is for lunch at the Olive Garden. I can't drive at night. All dates mentioned so far are ok for me depending on when the kids want to come over and put up the Christmas tree.

Sheila: I'm good with any of the dates accept Sat Dec 1st. My chemo is this coming Monday and hoping to go to my work Christmas party on the Sat.if not too sick. Just pick a date and I'll get there (where ever there is). so you can always pm me cuz I'm not always on here and didn't even see this posting until today and don't want to miss out
-
I would like to join in, any of those dates would probably work for me
-
Thank s She for coming back lol...
Olive garden is great with me
Dec 1,8 or 9 is fine with me.
She we could spend the next month trying t to get a date thats perfect for everyone but i agree with others...just pick it & those that can will.
Actually all dates except the 2nd are fine with me as I'm able to move things around.
Say 11 am ? Then they'll be no night time driving.and i too have an extra room here in Maple Ridge -
Just looking at everyone's responses and wondering if Dec 8 might work for all who want to go? Bearcub, Marian, does that day work for you? Also, perhaps some of us from Vancouver could carpool out there.
I might not be able to make it the weekend of Dec 1-2 now, but totally understand if a day's picked that I can't make. Whatever works best for the group as a whole is fine by me.
-
Sneaky, Dec. 8 would work for me. Funny but good friends are having their annual Christmas party that night but we have already decided my husband will go but not me - crowds won't work for me! So that day would be fine. 9th is out for me as one of our friends coming up from Seattle for the party is going to spend the next day with us since I am not partying.
-
yup the 8th works for me too I don't know how to get to Maple Ridge if thats where its going to be or have we not decided yet? I guess that would depend on how many of us live in the greater van area vrs farther out? No matter looking forward to the "comittment" lol
-
OLIVE GARDEN is in Langley, not Maple Ridge, way easier for you all from the west to get there. should we make reservations? if your in MR, go over bridge. I will post this also in the British Columbia forum ok?
-
Well, it looks like the 8th or any other date will be out for me. I fractured my wrist today playing pickle ball (my first time trying) and can't drive wearing a cast, but I don't regret playing. My husband died earlier this year (cancer) and I've had to make a lot of adjustments to my life and any bit of fun is most welcome.
I think I met Suz when my husband was doing chemo in Vancouver. She was most intrigued by the ice mitts he was wearing. They were fairly new at the time, I didn't have them foehn I had my chemo.
Kathy -
I will try for the next meetup, I have a crazy week starting with the 3rd, consult with the RO, then on the 4th doc appt., then the 5th first herceptin and start Tamoxifen. I am going to stick close to home that weekend to see how I am for SE.....I will sure miss meeting you all, have a great time and take lots of pics!!!!!
-
Unfortunately I won't be able to make this meet up, we have a Christmas thing to go to that night. Hopefully you will post photos! Have a great time! GG
-
Kathy.. Sorry to hear about your DH... You are lucky to have met Suz.. we never met in person, but she was the most encouraging person I ever "met" she reached out to me when I first joined She was a wonderful giving person
There are a few Vancouver ladies coming to the lunch.. maybe one of the can give you a ride????
GG27 We are going for lunch not dinner... if you can make that it wold be great, but understand it might be too much in one day
Looks like we will be about 10 ish. Everyone who is coming can you please the add a "yes" only so we can get a proper headcount.. I will then make reservations at Langley Olive Garden
-
-
yes and Kathy I can pick you up and/or Sneakychiquita. I am west (not West Van) but 57th Ave. and W. Boulevard. Sneaky is in E. Van so could pick her up and when we find out where you live...
Does Marlene know? She is in Burnaby. Also Adagio who lives near me.
I will post this link on a couple of other threads. How long does it take to get to Langely from Vancouver and I guess we cross the infamous Port Mann?
-
Ossa,
I can't do lunch in Langley & get back for a 6pm dinner, it would be just too much, it's 6 hours to get over there from here, I'm not on Vancouver Island but one of the smaller islands.
Next time... have fun!!
GG
-
GG.. oops chemo brain forgot.. you are not on the mainland.. have fun at your dinner.. We will keep a place at the table for you.. Might be better if you all inbox me with an yes answer, as it will be easier to keep track of numbers that way
-
YES (thanks Ossa for making reservations)
She - are you coming?
Bearcub - good luck with all appts & start of AI
Kathy - sorry to hear about your wrist AND sorry to hear about your DH.. fun is good
GG - sorry to miss you and any others!!!
Looking forward to meeting all of you coming & look forward to future gatherings to meet others.
-
