I only posted a few places about his illness and probably did miss a couple of topics when I wrote of his death. The last few weeks are still a bit hazy. Without the love and support of friends on BCO I would be a total basket case. My thanks to all.
-
and lots of prayers, Chabba.. i didn't catch the drift that your brother had passed. a double whammy.. please be easy on youself.........3jays -
Thank you 3jays. We have always been incredibly close and became even closer after his diagnosis. Now it feels as though a part of me is gone too. It will take quite awhile to heal. But I'm doing better.
-

So Sorry for your loss, Chabba.
-
Thank you.
-
chabba , I am sorry for your loss, too. prayers for healing!

My sister lives in Lake Oswego just outside Portland by Tigard in Oregon. An acquaintance of hers and her husband were out jogging one morning. When they got back to the house the woman went into the kitchen to get a drink and there was a man there with a machete and a knife. He told her not to scream, but of course she did. Her DH came running in from the garage and the man killed him right in front of his wife.
How, oh God, how do you keep on living???????
-
Oh my goodness. That's awful Barbe. Glad I'm 5 hours away from that locale! Did the guy get caught?
-
Not yet.
-
He's been captured per a link someone posted on Facebook.
-
Thank God. I'm sure everyone in the area will rest better tonight.
-
Yep, my sister sent me the link that he was captured. I didn't realize it was actually IN her neighbourhood!! I cried as I watched the news link, I cannot imagine watching my husband get murdered in front of me with a machete! The image is haunting me....

Here's some worship for your Thursday.
-
Hope everyone is doing well, think of you often.
-
Things are quiet all over! I guess our "group" of sisters are having a little less drama lately! Hip Hip Hooray!!!
I'll throw out a prayer request. My sibs & I have Mom's house for sale. There is an offer in place that originally was to close 10-31 but because the buyer is an investor who has purchased several other homes recently, has to have a certain type of lender, so now closing has been pushed back to Nov 30. I think everything is OK, but prayers for the successful conclusion to this part of the estate are greatly appreciated.
-
Will do.
Matt's having a bad week. His truck was hit for the third time since Thanksgiving last year. What are the chances of one vehicle being hit 3 times and not be at fault on any of them in 10 1/2 months? Poor kid.
Wedding is a mere four weeks away and I need to make two more bridesmaid dresses. I am feeling the pressure.
-
Meece, that wedding came up FAST!!!! Prayers being said for Matt (and his car) and Joni`s Mom`s house... I`ve never prayed for a car or a house before, so I should have lots of goodwill built up for those two!
-
Hi Everyone just wanted to share some good news my MRI and mamo came back clear, that"s 2 years in a row! In June it will be 5 years and I can come off the Arimidex too! Can't wait... It looks like we are all doing okay so I thank God for that and keep you all in my prayers everyday.

How are you doing, 3jays?
-
Hi Guys I could use the power of your prayers, I have a job now in a LTC facility 2-12 and I love my older folks but I am on feet never sitting down for 10 hours and lifiting so you can imagine my 58 year old body is not happy, I am applying for a non nursing job at the police dept for a clerk position, I think it is something I can do until 65. Just feel conflicted. and hope your prayers will help me. make a good choice.
-
Good luck OG!!! I am off on disability for over a year now!! I can only sit up for 2-3 hours at a time before I have to lie down to ease my back. Now..what job could I make good money doing that on???? Without breasts, remember!! Please let us know if you get the clerk position, my prayers have been sent!
-
Will definitely send prayers for your job, OG.
Barbe, you could demonstrate mattresses or be and under the car mechanic.

-
OG, I was a police clerk for 2.5 yrs & then a 9-1-1 dispatcher for 10 years back in the day. Loved the job(s). Hated the politics. As long as you are proficient with a computer & have a clean record yourself, the police clerk job should be a good fit. I sat on my butt too much actually which accounts for some of my middle-age spread I'm sure.
-
I have lost 35 pounds with dropping out all sugars and white stuff and this job leaves no time to eat so I will definetly have to watch it if I get a sit down job. Thanks for all the encouragement and prayers. xxxxx

The following are lyrics to a song that is playing a lot on Air 1 Christian radio lately. It seems to come on when I need it most; Jesus is right beside me!

Building 429 - Right Beside You From the album Listen To The Sound
I've seen it and felt it
Hopelessness with no lifeline
The wicked are feeding on
Innocence and our decline
You and I we are the same Torn apart by different things
All our faith is barely alive
But we're going to make it through the night
I want you to know
(Chorus)
When the world is on your back
And you think that you will never last
When you're lonely and you are confused
I'll be right beside you
When the walls are closing in
And you think you'd rather sink than swim
When you think there's nothing left for you to lose
I'll be right beside you
I'll be with you
We are precious
More than priceless is our worth
Loved by the Father
Heaven's children here on earth
You and I, we are the same
Lifted up above the pain
By His wounds we have been healed
And by our love it is revealed
I want you to know
I need you to know
Chorus
Hold on
Don't you let go of me
I'll be here through it all
Hold on, when you're ready to fall
I will carry you
I will never leave you
I will lift you if you fall
Chorus
I'll be right beside you
