My silly idea

Hello all,
I'm new here, and introduced myself in the stage III forum. I just wanted to share something that I thought of, and it's already paid off :-)
I read Christine Gifford's book yesterday 'Cancer has it's Privilages- Stories of Hope and Laughter' and found such inspiring ideas in there! I'm having trouble sleeping and last night, was making up haikus in my head. I'm also doing a newsletter by email for family and friends because I can't remember anything lately! So, I posted my haiku, and asked for everyone to make up one to send back to me. I'm printing them out, and putting them in a glass bowl on the coffee table. Whenever I need a laugh, or inspiration, I can pull one out of the bowl to read. So far, they've been quite creative!
Mine is totally awful, but I feel I must subject you all to it anyway...so sorry!
Here you go:
Crap, have breast cancer!
Send chemo; seek and destroy
Die, you bastards, Die!
It's not exactly the epitome of great Japanese Haiku, but it made me laugh, and it seems these days, I need all of that I can get :-)
Peace
Holley

Hi Irma,
missed your other post.
laughter is a wonderful thing to reduce the stress of this disease it can only help. -
I wouldn't beable to make it through without humor....as dark as it may be.
Thanx for the idea, Holley.
Hugs,
suzie -
Best Haiku I've heard in a long time Holley!! Thanks!
-
well, after my ambiguous results on my CT scan today, here's another *gem*... LOL
Waiting for results
Damn the ambiguity
Of tumor markers!
Unfortunately, I was on the frisbee golf course when my onc called today with news, so I retained about 1/2 of 1%... and now I get to wait till Monday to hear it all again!
I'm learning to really hate the word 'ambiguous'.
LOL
I've gotten some awesome contributions so far, some have made me laugh, and some have made me cry (in a good way).
I bought a treasure box today for the haikus, and will start printing them out tomorrow.
Boy, with nothing else to really do, I find I am becoming creative! -
This one is for all those who have waited for a call re: surgery date...kind of dumb but...
Waiting for the call.
Damn I am in the bathroom!
Must wait one more week.
LOL, oh well, I tried. -
Waiting is the worst!
Please, please doctor; call me back
Cancer really sucks. -
love them...keep them coming!
here is one from my dad:
Young lady, can you
Can cancer? Sure, I can, Sir;
I can can cancer. -
Love your dad's! (and yours, but your dad writing one....)
Will work on some for you. Have other cancer poetry and a limerick I wrote for my surgeon to read pre-op, but no haiku yet. Can I share your idea with my neighborhood support group?
Take care,
--Hattie -
My boobs are gone now.
But I have perky new girls.
Cancer, don't return. -
Nurse Ruth said she'd call
But she never called at all
Did she take a fall? -
Hattie, by all means! Share it with whomever you like! THis idea has paid off in spades for me. I love the easy creativness of it all (giggles)
Keep em coming!!! -
Here's my late night attempt...
Hair is all gone now
Here come funky hats and wigs
Let's do this with flair
OK, not that great , but it's my weekly goal to find funky hats.
Have fun with it girls...no other way to live but with a smile and laugh.
Cheers. Here's to another day passed. -

Holley - praying for you to get better fast. My haiku sums up what you've missed out on these last few days

This is a limerick and it isn;t about cancer but I just made it up:
There once was a fellow named Artie,
Who ate beans and that made him . . .uh . party,
Till his wife came home,
said YUCK, left him alone,
she'd rather go shop at K-mart-y.
Am I a genius or what? -
I'm the Artie in my family, but the hubby would say walmarty
-
TRUE----ALL TRUE!!!
I have my gas mask...whew! Or, should I say, P-YEW!
