hi all, I use essential oils for aromatherapy and stopped using lavender because of being ER+.
There was an interesting discussion about this topic on the complementary/holistic med forum:

Sheila, thinking of you. ((hugs)) to all

Jo, so glad your appointments are routine now, and less centered around BC. And thanks for starting this thread....the love-fire is amazing. And so are those S'mores! (Thanks, Linda!)VR - thanks for the words of wisdom about our kids. I already have 2 far away and 3 within 2 hours....and you are right - we are happy when they are doing well. My DS #2 in San Fran is doing so well and I see him more now than when he lived in NY. We have quality visits in CA each year.My grandkids in the NE are close enough for a day or week end visit so I am blessed. There is just something about this son - my first son died at 4 days and this son "M" was born 1.5 years later - at 10.5 lbs. and the picture of health and hope. He is a soulmate, a precious combination of vulnerability and strength, with a hilarious sense of humor thrown in. I have spent the past few days so down....he hasn't left yet and I know I can go visit, but we said 'bye and he has things to do and friends to see. I'll be OK, but change is tough. Thanks again for the encouragement. And VR, I admire your strength and acceptance, knowing you cannot just go whenever you want. You are helping me adapt and be grateful!I join you in tossing all the stress and worry this economy has brought for so many. But I'll hold off on the changes - sometimes they help us grow or work out for good.(((Granny))) have a beautiful visit with your family. We're gonna have that face to face in NYC when you are ready!(((SAS))) hope you are just taking the time you need for yourself...I have to get through the next 2 days and let go of how I want things to be...Love & hugs to allJoan

Happy week end everyone...I think I'm doing better here...DS will call me from the airport before he leaves for his new home in Chicago. I think I'll be OK when I know he is where he needs to be for his new job. It's just the waiting for him to leave -- I got him a powerball ticket hoping if he won he'd stay in NY
... of course, it wasn't a winner.
Change can be good and it can open up new opportunities.Hugs to all,Joan -
Sheila....hope all is well...

I saw those smores back there. In our area there are now marshmallows by the brand Campfire. They are not as sweet and make great smores and rice crispie treats, I know I make the rct often.
Nothing for the fire except one aggravation after another from Hubby, tossing it in - not him, yet. *_____* That is my ugly face.
I found a mad bluebird cookie at bakery the other day, so cute I bought it and took pics, will post later. Tasted awful though, one nibble and let Hubby eat it and blame it on the dog hahaha.
And hugs for everyone.
LOVEEssa

Essa, Campfire marshmallows used to be the only kind sold in this part of the country. To me they are still the best! My first s'more when I was 8 was made with Campfire marshmallows.
-
OK, so PTdreamer has put a little burst to my lavendar bubble.... but I like it, it makes me feel good, I use it in moderation, and am not giving it up. I have looked at the studies, can find fault with all of them, very much like I can find fault with much of the medical studies - all based on statistics and probablilities - and am not going to feel guilty about it! I LIKE LAVENDAR AND AM NOT GIVING IT UP!!!
-
Linda I would never burst your bubble. Use whatever you like. I am getting to the stage that beyond alittle common sense , life is too short to be constantly worrying about what we might be doing to our bodies. The ALS are probably doing worse. My cholesterol is going up, my liver enzymes are up and my BP is rising. This is all while i"m being good about what I consume and slather.
-
Essa and Chabba - They had the biggest durn Campfire marshmallows at WalMart today. Almost bought some even though I have no use for them and don't like marshmallows. I know, I know, not liking s'mores. Just hand over the chocolate!
Throwing into the bonfire my work that despite the fact I'm on vacation thinks I'm going to fix some paperwork pronto that they got a you know what up their a** that has to be done now; something they've decided to change at the last minute. Federal fiscal year ends Sunday. Will do in the am but will "charge back" any time and deduct from my vacay time. Just what the heck would they do if I was on a cruise or backpacking in Montana???
Happy hump day to those of us still working.
-
Joan---We will do that face to face and i hope real soon.
I did the trip home from bus...first time since i got the beast....I did fine.
Now if i can put off this stomach surgery till Nov.I will be able to make some kinda plans in focktober....
Hope we can get the others to join us but if not its gonna be YOU AND ME!!!!!
hugggggs everyone...goin to try to catch up.
-
ptdreamers, you said it! I am just past the stage of worrying about this stuff. I have lived one of the healthiest lifestyles around - could have used a little more exercise - but not overweight, don't smoke, don't drink to excess, am a vegetarian, etc. etc. and I still got BC, so I say "screw it - I am going to enjoy anything I want to!" Also I am not going to go out and do every "natural" thing available, eat stuff that is supposed to be good for me if I don't like it, and probably not going to train for a marathon, but I WILL walk and garden for fun, eat my veggies 'cause I LIKE them, and splurge on ice cream bars anytime I feel like it! HA! Take THAT, you BC beast!
And I remember all the studies that said hormone replacement therapy is good for you, now not so much, studies said eggs were bad for you, then not so bad for you, now some new studies say maybe they ARE bad for you..... so I am tossing STUDIES into the fire, along with my previous dedication to developing, implementing, and analyzing various STUDIES that may well have been erroneous! We are, after all, humans, and we can make lots of mistakes.
-
Love you all- sheila
-
Love you back, Sheila. ((hugs))
Shall we throw the replacement NFL refs into the fire?
-
OK Granny, when's it gonna be?
It's really quiet on the boards lately....
Happy week end &
Hugs to all

Women are Angels. And when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly. . .usually on a broomstick. We are flexible like that!

The flames of our fires just shot up a few feet. I finally found the right words to use to fire my oncologist. My husband said it was straight to the point and strong. It has taken me a while to cool my anger against her to be able to form a letter to her without being rude or without name calling or saying I might regret. So let the flames rise higher in the sky.
-
Good for you Veggy.
-
Veggy - You go girl. Good for you.
-
Yay Veggy good for you. Only we can know what is best for ourselves.
-
Badger, thanks for the love I feel it. Listening to Blues now on cable. Just makes me so relaxed and mellow, Coffee black . All I need is a beinget.
Did I tell everyone here That I just started listening to Blues. Lo and behold a tune came on .Ran and looked at it. It was the same tune that played in my left ear for two hours post op crani. Louis jordan, Caldonia 1946. You can pull it up on You tube. Mine was instrumental. When it gets to the really strong horn section, you'll understand my concern of how long this would go on. But now I hooked on Blues. So next sweet fire play Blues and see what it does to the flames, Dance in time to the beat.
Veggy --go get'em. Err what are you getting 'em for. Whatever it is picturee them with cracked eggs dripping all down her head as she goes into the fire. She will sizzle then eh?
Helloooooooo Jo feeling okay. All healed? You were pretty close last note.
VR still in good as shape as you were postop? Wish I had your doc. Sinus sx isn't always successful. My waterfall continues, but still sucking the water and the waterfall is less.
Need help on Pinktober revolution. After 30 pages there was the first fight. So it's been quiet for 24 hours. Regular posters hanging back. A pop in to just get things moving again will help.
Started a new thread, the header is self explanatory. I'll get the link and bring it back.

SAS - I AM FINISHED WITH ALL MY TREATMENT!!! Of course with the exception of the darn Tamoxifen and that is 3 years, 2 months and 26 days but who is counting. LOL! I have absolutely nothing to throw into the fire. I am feeling so on top of the world these days. Getting lots of sleep and have tons of energy. Love my recon results - would do it again in a heartbeat if I had to.
Wishing everyone a great day. For those who need a hug - here is a big one -(((HUG)))

Granny, Just got your PM and left you a VM.
I have been sick for 10 days and, of course, only took 1 sick day. I have not kept up with anything.
Jo, so great to hear your awesome news. It's been a long road for you...so glad it's smoothing out.
Wouldn't it be great if we all did not need this fire any more.....
Thanks for the hug and here's one for you! (((JO)))Veggy - sometimes we just KNOW that we are doing the right thing....glad you found the words.

-
sas - you got it right....I stopped the zithropac and am taking acidophilus...this is not a 'normal' for me and i must say the OTC meds are working. I check homeopathic and I just didn't have the energy to play with messy foods
