mourning a great woman

I am so sorry for your loss. You clearly loved her very much. Breast cancer is a terrible and sneaky disease. Take care.

this poem appeared in the paper shortly after my husband died. It brings a smile to my face each time I read it. I hope it will do the same for you.



Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there; I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow,

I am the diamond glints on snow,

I am the sun on ripened grain,

I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning’s hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circling flight.

I am the soft star-shine at night.

Frapp I picked that for my Dad a few yrs back, it touched my heart.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry.  I have a daughter, too, and it breaks my heart to know that I'll be bringing her pain because of this damn disease.  Know that she wants you to be happy more than anything in the world. It's hard to do, but try not to let her death darken your life.  Her love will be with you forever.

After five years, her decline happened very quickly and must have come as a great shock to you.  I'm so sorry that you've lost her.
