Undiagnosed IBC? Need help!!!
I've been trying to get diagnosis but I keep getting referrals to different doctors ( I have a free insurance in General hospital) and my next appointment is only in November. Need advice now. Does it seems like IBC?
I started having right breast pain in April 2012. Sharp nipple pain from the water pressure in the shower, sharp pain when touched. Then came the burning sensation of the upper quadrant and right side of the right breast, also on the ribs. Pain and burning also radiates to the back near the spine. In May 2012, my armpit got swallen. It does not look like a bean shaped lymph node, but rather like an elevated dome on my whole armpit. Also, the area that leads from the armpit to the breast is very dence and thick. Ultrasound was done at the end of May and showed "fluid build up and skin thickening." Doctors ruled out the possibility of any type of cancer based on those results. I insisted on taking antibiotics for 2 weeks and it did not help. After that I saw 3 doctors that keep feeling my breast and saying that I just have a bit more of a breast tissue in the right breast and nothing to worry about. Bloodwork seemed to be fine.
I am very worried. My armpit is still swollen and skin below the armpit is very thick. Burning and pain is ongoing. However, I do not have any skin changes, rash, reddness etc. My breasts naturally very small and barely make the A cup so the difference in size is not very distinct, very minimal. Mostly hurts on the ribs, in the armpit and on the back during the day. Breast hurts at night. Now it's September and syptoms are still the same. Can this be IBC? Otherwise I am in good health, great energy, 29 years old.
Please let me know if someone had similar symptoms with no visible signs and was diagnosed with IBC.

Hi Bon,
Thank you for the second opinion. It's good to think about other possible outcomes. I'll try to ask my doctor to explore lungs/lymphoma. I had a chest X-Ray two months ago and it was clear also blood work came all good which would've shown lymphoma probably. Only my Sed Rate is slightly raised, other results were normal. My doc sent me to Dermatologyst, I'll see him at the end of October. And I just had genetic testing done for BRCA. Results will be ready in a few weeks.
No SOB, no reddness or rash. Just pain, some itchiness, and burning/stinging. If I touch my breast it feels like a big bruise and some sharp pain shoots under the nipple.
I will keep people posted here. But unfortunately I will see my doctor on Ocrober 31 for the next breast evaluation

so sorry to hear your concern.
have you had fna/ bloods done yet?
i can assure you dont just accept what drs say, if your ultrasound came back clear, so did mine 3 times, huge blood mass..haemoglobin 3 times thats what i was told.
really u need to get bloods done.
mine was so obvious that it was ibc, now that i know what ibc is, mine was red itchy swollen, hot pitted orange look.
4 months of drs. telling me it was an infection, ultrasounds done but it was too big and scary looking to have a fna done in the chair so i was put on antibiotics for a whole 4 months.
shocking to say the least.
demand be aggressive to get the answers u want....just go to a dr and demand bloods.
i think yr symptoms are somewhat a little different for ibc but dont listen & demand bloods.

Hi Guys, thank you so much for your insights and support. Sorry to hear about your health problems, my best wishes sent towards your full recovery.
I will try to get an earlier appointment and demand a PET scan and/or biopsy.
I am not familiar with the term fna bloods- is it a fine needle byopsy blod samples or something?
I am foreign so new medical terms are quite confusing for me.
Bon : fluid buildup is in the armpit area and area between the armpit and a breast (top upper quadrant of the breast all the way to the armpit) Skin thickening is in the same area. So it's something in the breast tissue or lymph system. Loungs should be ok, at least from my own feelings.
Thanks again for your advice and concerns. At least I know that I am concerned for a reason and should be more demanding with doctors.
