a miracle

I attended my local monthly breast cancer support group last evening. Our guest speaker spoke about mindfulness meditation and we did a meditation exercise. Following that we had our usual round table type discussion and were all a bit subdued because of the meditation. The last lady to speak told the following story.

She told the story of a young man that she knows who goes to the local high school. He is on the track team and was headed to the state finals with his relay team. Last Thursday he was injured and it was determined by the doctor and an MRI that he had torn a ham string muscle. Benjamin, the boy, was devastated. On Sunday he went to church as usual but on crutches. After the servoce he went to the alter for a healing anointment. Later than evening he told his mother that something was happening to his leg. He said it was changing and he thought he was being healed. Later he got up no crutches and walked and then ran in place.

He went back to the doctor on Monday. The doctor had a young intern working with him. Benjamin told the doctor than he had been healed. The doctor examined him and declared that he could no longer feel the torn ham string. He ordered an MRI and the MRI showed no ham string tear. The intern asked the doctor "what happened". The doc replied "a miracle".

Benjamin told the doctor and others that he knew he would be healed. His faith was strong and he was healed.
