Hello 2010 Sistas! I am sorry I have not checked in. I lurk every now and then but I started a new job, and I have been crazy busy. Group HUG!! Love to each and every one of you. I am also devastated at the loss of Marybe and Beccad (Becky).
-
BarbA - glad you are back, sorry you have to work extra to make up for the time off to be with Marybe. I agree with the others you are a blessing to all of us as you were to our beloved Marybe. I am coming to see you soon. I'll let you rest a little before I envade
Love you.
Shelley - DH, Daisy and I are all fine. We just got back from a few days at Atlantic Beach. The weather was perfect and we had a relaxing time. Tomorrow I have to do the bone scan then next week I see my PCP for a checkup and get my thyroid checked. Then my labs before my Aredia the next week. Then the next week my treatment and check with the dermatologist about the results of the biopsy they did last week. Then I get to rest for a couple of days. Trying to get all my travel plans in order to go to see BarbA, then Japan to see DD#1 and Australia to see Chrissy. Looks like the Japan/Australia trip will be in April 2013, probably the 2nd week. Hoping FL trip will be later this year, checking with DH's schedule.
HUGS to everyone. AJ

I don't visit the IDC 2010 Forum too much anymore. Today I got results of my latest bloodwork. I am still NED. I have scans done in January. I can't believe it has been nearly two years since I was told I had breast cancer. I survived the surgeries, chemo, and radiation.
I have had to work through so many emothions since I was told I had cancer. I did not ever think this would happen to me. I have followed all the rules and done what I was told I should do and the paths I needed to follow. I have faith in all my doctors and so far none have led me wrong. Who knows what the future holds? Only God knows. My strength comes from Him. There is no way I could have come this far and have the attitude I have without God's promises. I plan to see my grandchildren grown and educated. I plan to be around and see to the care of my husband of 48 years who is a diabetic, has had open heart surgery, had vascular surgery on his right leg, toes ampututated and continued wound care to an area on his heel. He also does dialysis three days aweek ( He drives himself to the clinic.)
We also see to the care of my mother who lives at home and is 94 years old and a favorite aunt who is 87 years old and suffers from dementia. I don't have time to deal with cancer.
-
Hey there everyone - I got the results from the bone scan and there is no change from the one last year so that was good news. I got my labs, including the additional ones from my PCP and my thyroid is fine, Iron, Vit. D, and Calcium levels were all really low so more supplements and a Rx for iron. 2nd test for Calcium came back as normal so that extra dosage was dropped back to what I had before. Got my Aredia yesterday so I have not done too much today except sleep. Get the breast MRI tomorrow then on the 17th of Oct. On Monday I go to the Dermatologist to get the results of the skin biopsy they did on the 7th. I get a full body CT and more lab work before my next Aredia. At least I got a few answers and that was good news, so I will have to wait to get the rest of the picture. My insurance has now decided that they will not pay for the CTC blood test anymore. They say it is not part of the "Standard of Care" for Breast Cancer. So the onco has to file a lot of extra paperwork and re-file it as Metastatic Breast Disease. Even then they may or may not pay the $874.00 for the test! This is crazy they will pay for the full body MRI and not a simple blood test! Aaaaggghhh I'll keep you all updated.
Hope everyone has a good night of rest.
Hugs and love to all. Amy Jo
-
Hey girlfriend, that is great news about your scans/tests! Not so great about the insurance not paying though. That arguments is so typical with insurance. I love that they won't pay $30 for birth control but will pay $3000 to deliver a baby. Never made any sense to me.
-
Awwwwwwww AJ such good news...so happy for ya.
I pay 350.00 a month for insurance for just lill ol me and every once in a while some hotshot dr or lab tries to get some bucks out of me....hell no...ill fight till the end.
I worked for insurance co.for years....just like komen, big pharm, acs, and all the others.....THEY ALL SLEEP IN ONE BED......and the $$$$$ goes where??????
This pisses me off....
AJ....i wish you luck on that one!!!!!
huggggggggs everyone.K
