Back from the appointment. The good news is that nothing is in my brain or other organs. But I have 3 areas of mets in my bones. Obviously I'm still a little shook up and don't know too much yet. He wants me to do radiation on the pelvic bone leisions to reduce it and eliminate the pain. I'm also supposed to start Xgeva. And he wants to biopsy the pelvic or scapula leision to send a tissue sample down to Texas. I believe it's for an onctotyping to help determine the best genetic treatment. Also get it retested to see if we're still delaing with ER/PR+ Her2-. There are also some small leisions on my spine but the first step is to get me into treatment and see how they react. I'm also switching from Tamoxifen to Femara.
Ladies, please don't think this is your future. When I was dx'ed it was very scary because it was so closely matched to my sister's dx. And she passed away from BC in 2005. A lot of things were stacked in the wrong pile - locally advance ILC, BRCA2+, pleomorphic, grade 3, no response to chemo and a sister who travelled the same path before me. From the beginning of this I have wanted to be more aggressive than my sister's treatment. And I will continue to do so.
Remember, not all of us progress. There are only so many slots in that "15%" progression and it leaves open a whole bunch of slots on the 85% side where you will never have to deal with BC again (at least the active treatment part).
Keep strong and live each day. It's the best revenge that you can give this nasty disease.
-
Sending warm, caring hugs. ((((Christy)))) You have every bit of support we can give here. Holding you in cyber space. G.
-
Christy, I am just so sorry to hear your news. It just is completely unfair.

Dear Chrisy! What a wonderful and caring woman you are to comfort us! You are very strong and positive and you will do fine with this new challenge!! You are on top of it early and your onc sounds great!!! You will be in
My thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for keeping us informed and comforting us! You are amazing! -
I'm so sorry Christy. I was hoping for better news for you.
It does sound like your onc has a good plan. I'm glad he's thinking of genetic testing. There's no reason to have your body weakened by chemo that isn't effective.
Please take good care of yourself. You have such a generous spirit to be thinking of our feelings during this time.
-
We're here for u Christy (((hugs)))
-
I am sorry about your news. I hope treatment will get you out of pain and give you good quality of life for a long time. I'm thinking about you.
-
Christy, I am also very sorry that you got this news. I hope you are finding comfort with your loved ones and gather strength soon! I have met many women who are living their lives with breast cancer in their bones. I hope you see this as the good news in your bad news. I sat next to a woman at chemo who was being treated and had had the disease for 15 years...Still I know this is not the news you were hoping for and we are all thinking of you.....it really is not fair.
