biopsy went well
hi sisters
the biopsy went well; i got to the hospital (special procedures) at 8 am. checked in...,.they took my money...lol....then i was good to go.
basically. i put on a gown, (got to keep the underpants on which was good as i wore some colored pretty ones on purpose) then they basically put an IV in for fluids.
it was kinda interesting how they do a biopsy of spine area; i had to lie on the ct scan on my stomach...they took pictures..then they marked the spot on my back...i couldn't move and you all know what that is like...anyway, once they got the exact spot identified they did a needle biopsy. he got bone and also some bone marrow. i was conscious but had some very nice medicne on board...lol not painful at all. after they completed, they took another ct to make sure there wasn't a problem..then i went to recovery where i ate a turkey sandwich and a cookie.
waited another hour; chatted with my friend...then they took an xray..to double check everything was good. i left. it was all about 4 total hours.
i am not in pain; using ice . not taking anything...he did a good job i think. have to rest today and tomorrow...go easy thursday. it takes a week for pathology. i see onc next tuesday.
i did look at my PET/CT scan and i could clearly see the cancer in my back. it really does light up.
well, that is it in a nutshell. thank you ALL so much for support, prayers, love and hugs. means a lot to me,
"saddle up"
love to all

A turkey sandwich and a cookie! On diet days, that would be reward enough for being stabbed in the back with a biopsy needle! Thanks for sharing, diana, I'm glad it wasn't an ordeal and that you have a couple of days of rest. Mets, mets, go away, don't come another day...

Thanks for keeping us updated, Diana. You're a trooper! I'm glad the procedure went well and you're not in pain.

Diana,
I haven't been on the boards much this summer. I've read your posts over the years and have always admired your calm way. I am so sorry you're going through this again, but am glad to read you handled this biopsy so well. (hugs) This post reminds me why you're such a role model to so many of us stage III'ers

Here's the news I was waiting to hear today! So glad you did well - and also appreciated your description of the procedure itself...thank you.
It will be interesting to find out if you're still dealing with the same stuff - or some entirely different stuff...this whole cancer experience is just a mystery to me.

Sounds like everything went as planned (nice medecine on board sure helps!). Great that you had a friend there and "dressed" for the occasion
. You let us be part of your experience by sharing like this, thank you for that. Lookin' at the PET/CT is interesting, too. I remember looking at mine, even brought the CD home and still have it. So, it's time to rest up from it all. Holding you in my thoughts. Hugs, G.
