best way to do mld on palm

I'm having some swelling at the base of my palm. What's the best way to do mld on the palm? Should I just move the fluid from the palm straight up my arm or do I need to move the fluid from the palm around to the back of my hand and then up my arm? Should I do strokes or do the semi circles?

DJLS, some of the palm drains between the fingers to the front of the hand, and the middle drains down, as does the lower half of the palm, here's a photo of palm MLD:
